Because the husband is charged with loving his wife as Christ loved the church. A husband who loves his wife completely, with full self sacrifice ‘submits’ to her out of that love. (Submit yourselves one to another in the love of Christ.)

Even your own source admits that it doesn’t (reliably) work like that.
The website says:

Ephesians 5 22-24 Wives, submit to your husbands as to the Lord. For the husband is the head of the wife as Christ is the head of the church, his body, of which he is the Savior. Now as the church submits to Christ, so also wives should submit to their husbands in everything.

This is a very unpopular verse. Mostly because it has been used in the past to make women subservient to their husband, with only he allowed to make decisions

Reliability… interesting objection.

People DO take a few lines and argue that the wife must submit to the husband. It is as if the husband makes whatever demands and the wife is just supposed to deal with it. But, it is the integration of the full text that makes for an awesome marital experience.

Yet, people are reliably fallen - they will always fall short. From what I’ve seen and experienced, the married couple that attempts to be in complete union with Christ is a joyful couple. Maybe it’s just me.

So… if people take a perfect system, abuse it, twist it toward their own wicked ends - then it’s the system’s fault?

For me, the more perfectly we implement the system, the more joy we experience in our lives.

If a system usually fails then it is obviously not a perfect system.

Since I view “the system” as a design created by God, and I view God as all that is Holy, then I conclude that the system is perfect. I am able to distinguish the implementers of the system from the system itself.

Thus → System = perfect. Humanity = fallen.

But there’s nothing (except faith) to support that belief.

Yeah, I’ll go with that.

It isn’t like I would suggest a system based on faith for people who had none, tell them to implement it, and behave AS IF they were trying to be obedient to God, when in fact they had zero motivation to be obedient to something they disbelieve. I would argue that this system is successful when all involved are careful to be obedient to God.
