Well, today I’m taking a closer step to reconnecting with my faith and God. I signed up for the Women’s ACT retreat with my church and we leave today at 6pm and don’t return until Sunday Mass.
I have no idea what to expect and I won’t know a soul. I guess you could say I’m kinda anxious…and I wish I wasn’t. I should be excited. Does anyone have any experience with this retreat?

I have not yet been invited and probably won’t participate because it entails a commitment after the retreat and I can’t make such a commitment, but those in our diocese who have taken it are very enthusiastic and it is growing here. The youth ACTS is excellent as well, and the men’s ACTS team has produced some excellent leadership. Like anything else it depends on the team, the presenters, and the participants.

I will be praying for you my sister in Christ, and for all the women on the retreat with you.

What parish do you belong to? I know Our Lady of Guadalupe in Austin, TX is holding an ACTS retreat this weekend. I know many of the women on the team and it should be a wonderful experience. Of course by the time you read this it shall have already been a wonderful experience or not.

I do not know what commitment you would be required to make after attending a retreat. You will probably be asked to serve your parish, if you are not already doing so, you might be invited to join a future ACTS team, but I believe you always have the right to say “No, thank you.” I personally would highly recommend serving on an ACTS team if given the opportunity, it is an amazing experience.

May God’s blessings be with you.

Just wanted to write a quick not to see how your ACTS retreat went. I hope it was a weekend filled with God’s Blessings!

I was praying for you.

The ACTS Retreat was the most wonderful experience of my life (right up there with the birth of my daughter!). 😃
There are no words to describe how absolutely, transforming and uplifting the weekend was.
We are having a follow up meeting next week and I can’t wait to go and see all my sisters again! I currently am not involved in my church, but look forward to doing so if asked. If I’m asked to participate in another ACTS retreat, I don’t know how or why I would say no. To be able to provide what others have for me??? There would be hesitation. I seriously can’t see any pressure from anyone if I had to say “no, not at this time”.
If there was enough time and space I would go into much more detail about the weekend. Suffice it to say, I am NOT the same person I was on Thursday afternoon. The HOLY SPIRIT lives within me and touched everyone’s life who was part of the retreat.:extrahappy: If you are reading this and don’t know about ACTS or if you have heard of and have shyed away from it for one reason or another, all I can say is “you are missing out on a truly, wonderful, God giving experience!!!”

My scripture verse for this weekend was
“Ask , and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock, and it will be opened to you” Matthew 7:7
I found my Catholic sister’s this weekend! PRAISE GOD!
