Anybody else planning on seeing it? I can’t until tomorrow but I’ve been really looking forward to it. Going to take my mom since WW is her favorite superhero.

It’s been getting great reviews too, apparently it’s much more optimistic and hopeful than DC’s other films so far, which is a relief. I’m tired of brooding men in capes.

Anyways, I’ll post my own thoughts on it when I see it tomorrow, but just wanted to start this thread so we have a place to discuss it. 🙂

I saw it last night. It was good and entertaining. It had some nice bits of humor (mostly of the fish out of water kind) which was nice to see in a DC movie. You’re right that it is more positive with less brooding than usual superhero fare. The final bad guy (which I won’t spoil) was kind of so-so, but otherwise I enjoyed it.

What is disappointing is the lack of the invisible jet.

I see the golden lasso of truth, her bulletproof bracelets in the previews.
I don’t see her tiara. Isn’t that also a weapon?

Well it’s set in World War I, so it’s all biplanes.

She uses them both a lot in the movie, with the lasso used to grab and throw things. It’s pretty cool.

I think it’s a weapon in the comics, just not in the movie (but it is there).

The Paris accords banned invisible fuel…🙂 maybe in WWII

I love the invisible jet, but I admit it would look a little goofy on screen. Probably a good call for it not to be in the movie.

Lets see, it has a strong independent womyn who don’t need no man, Germans are the"bad guys" despite it being ww1 they’re still nazis, all this movie needs is a interracial token side kick.

We saw it this afternoon and it’s well worth it. I too thought about the invisible jet (now THAT is stealthy) but It’s an origins story so I suspect we’ll see the jet in future movies even though it never showed up in Batman vs Superman which was current. 🤷

This was actually very enjoyable and Gal Gadot is beautiful as well as believable in the part. I liked Chris Pine’s character as well.

I’ll be interested to see where Wonder Woman goes in the future.

Just saw WW this afternoon. Very good movie. Certainly miles better than the train wreck that was Batman vs. Superman. I’ll be buying a copy when it comes out on video.

Nice to hear.

I’ll go see it a week later, after the initial rush is over.

I dunno…Batman Vs. Superman turned me right off DC. Super disappointing after Man of Steel.

There may be hope for the DC films now that Zack Snyder seems to be out of the picture. He was one of the worst possible people to put in charge, especially where Superman was concerned.

Well for what it’s worth, I hated BvS but loved this movie. It was a genuine, unironic, hope-filled superhero film. Very refreshing. 👍

I was a little worried that after the way BvS set up Wonder Woman disappearing for a hundred years, that this movie was going to end with a disillusioned Wonder Woman cynically giving up on mankind, but thankfully that didn’t happen. The movie is still stuck with BvS’s story, but I thought it handled it well.
