I’m happy to report that it looks like the Cathedral may be starting a trend of having Latin Mass on Sunday evenings once a month! 😃 We are so happy! This evening there was a beautiful Mass and everyone did a fine job again. If you have never been to a Latin Mass and are anywhere in the area, attending Mass at the Cathedral is the ideal way to participate because whoever designed the program has made it very easy to follow, with Latin on the left side and English on the right side of the program. It tells you when to sit, stand, kneel and Fr. also tells people to follow what the altar boys do as “clues” as to when to do what. Fr. couldn’t make it any easier to take part in the Mass. Everyone that has anything to do with it is to be commended, including the choir who did a fabulous job once again. There is just something about chanting that melts the stress away and makes everything more worshipful. I noticed deeper genuflection as people exited pews, a reverent silence, and an awesome awareness that we were in the presence of God and partaking of the body and blood of Christ. The people around here are just so blessed to have such an excellent priest and bishop, believe me! I could hardly wait to share everything with you all again! 😃

Congratulations on your EF Mass. I’ve never been down south and probably will never make it. I have grand kids and kids scattered all over creation but none down south. We attend FSSP in the Northwest. So I know what you are talking about. Right now we are being “hosted” by a OF parish. We appreciate being able to have Mass there but its not the same as having your own church. Always have to give way to the OF.

But we are praying hard for a spot of our own.

I live in new orleans and if you ever come down our way old St. Patrick’s church has a EF Mass every Sunday at 930 am. St. Benilde has one sunday at 700 am

Dear VetA,
Thanks for the invitation :D. You are indeed blessed to have access to two churches every Sunday. My husband keeps fussing that there should be, at the very least, Latin Mass in one time period in every church every Sunday. Of course, he’s correct! 👍.

I hope you live in the historic district where it’s a little bit higher up.
