Wondering how to do this

Apricot yogurt, I may have a different opinion on this subject. After reading this thread, one question came to mind.

What do you expect from writing this letter?

That the parish Priest is going to agree with you 100% and change the whole parish based one email?

There is something else I didn’t read.

What are you doing to change the parish? You belong to the parish.

What are you teaching your kids at home? You have seen it with your first two children, what are you doing with the third?

Do you volunteer at the church?

Teach CCD, or attend a bible study, or be a team leader in RCIA?

Are you involved or just sitting in the back waiting for others?

It’s easy to condemn, but its hard to encourage change.

Which are you doing with this letter?

23eagle23-Our parish needs healing before anything else can happen. I firmly believe this. Our parish has had 2 priests commiting suicide, several nervous breakdowns, and a peodophile priest-tried and convicted. Families have left the parish in droves. We are unable to progress because we haven’t healed from this.
I am actually on the team for the upcoming FHC programme. I haven’t mentioned this in the letter, because Fr already knows this. My huge reluctance to help out before is based on the assumption that I will be made to use the same flawed programmes as have always been used, and that I know I will simply be the third police-cleared adult on the team-primarily a seat-warmer.
The parish have introduced Adoration for children, Mass bags for children with aids to help their understanding of the Mass, and children’s stations of the cross. This is what I have been doing for the parish.
I have hope that the priest who reads this will change things, if not, as a parish, we will die.We are already dying.

Apricot yogurt, its sounds to me that this parish has been condemn enough already. I don’t believe you will receive the response you are hoping for with this email. The Priest already understands how bad things are, and is probably looking for supporters. Another compliant isn’t going to change anything. If anything it will just enforce the negativities already present. Prayers are needed for you parish, I will add you and your parish in my prayers.
When a parish die’s, it’s the people that are hurt not the priest. Therefore in my humble opinion the people must enact the change with their service. The priest is reassigned and moves on, but the people are left without.
Why not encourage your Priest? Why not try and help this parish heal, by your actions not your words?
I am sorry if I come across as argumentative, but I don’t see any positive coming from your letter, and would chose to act differently.

Just another side of the coin.
