Ok I am curious again to know about masturbation? Well when a young boy wakes up with “wet” dreams is it considered a sin? And if he continues on a regular basis even after he is married is that a sin?
Is it a sin for a woman to do the same?
Also what about vasectomies? Or the tying of the tubes?

And last but not least what about removing of the cervix or even the tubes? Is this considered a sin?
Example: My aunt had cervical cancer…She had to have her cervix removed, is she banned from heaven for being incomplete? Or detroying the ability to procreate when it was out of her control?

Your advice, information and thoughts greatly appreciated…

You can only sin if you can control what you are doing and you know it to be wrong

A wet dream is a physical reaction whilst sleeping it cannot be stopped my the man therefore not a sin.

Your Aunt having medical treatment is not a sin. If she was having her tubes tied etc because she didnt want periods or couldnt be bothered with children that would be a sin.

There will be others on here who a far more eloquent then me but basically no knowledge no sin medical treatment no sin.

Well let’s say like my other aunt, after her second child the doctor told her if she had any more children she would not make it, so he advised to tie her tubes and she did for her health…is this a sin?

What is the difference? It is still a man’s seed being spoiled on the “ground”…Why is it not a sin if it’s still wasting his seed and preventing him from having a child?

I don’t understand…Because seriously they are not having children when a man or a woman masturbates, she’s is getting her pleasure and even if he’s asleep it’s still going on as well?! And his seed is spilled and wasted…

Ok I am curious again to know about masturbation? Not allowed.Well when a young boy wakes up with “wet” dreams is it considered a sin? No, because he was not in control of his body when it happened. And if he continues on a regular basis even after he is married is that a sin?To have wet dreams or masturbate? Masturbation is not allowed because it results in sperm being discarded. Sperm should only be ejaculated during sex when there is openness to live.
Is it a sin for a woman to do the same?Yes.
Also what about vasectomies? Not allowed, because it is a form type of contraceptionOr the tying of the tubes?same thing.

And last but not least what about removing of the cervix or even the tubes? Is this considered a sin?Not a sin, because it was removed for health reasons. The woman was not removing it for fear of having more children. If she hadn’t had it removed would she still be open to life?

I recommend The Good News About Sex and Marriage. He answers all of these questions much better than I can…

As for the question about having tubes tied because another child will “kill” someone, the Church requires them to abstain or take the risk.

Abstain even if that’s her husband married through the Catholic church? How is a marriage supposed to work when they were a young couple with 2 children and her health is in jeapordy and her husband still wishes to make love?

Hi, Luv! 😃

Masturbation is a sin, yes.
Well when a young boy wakes up with “wet” dreams is it considered a sin?
No.

Wet dreams? Not a sin. Masturbation? Yes, a sin.
Is it a sin for a woman to do the same?
Masturbation is a sin no matter who does it. If a woman has an orgasm while sleeping/dreaming, it’s not a sin.
Also what about vasectomies? Or the tying of the tubes?
Both sins.
And last but not least what about removing of the cervix or even the tubes? Is this considered a sin?
To remove the cervix or fallopian tubes is not a sin if the organs themselves are diseased (cancer or ectopic pregnancy).
Well let’s say like my other aunt, after her second child the doctor told her if she had any more children she would not make it, so he advised to tie her tubes and she did for her health…is this a sin?
Yes.

Do you have a Catechism, Hon? When I was learning about the faith, I was always looking things up in the Catechism. 🙂

Yes, either through periodic abstinence (natural family planning) or complete abstinence.

Natural family planning. It works. There are people on this forum who use NFP for the very reason that a pregnancy could/would kill them.

Yes when I was younger but I was never really curious about these things since when I became a teen I never had the need to “explore” myself…so I really didn’t think of it…and when my father explained to my brother’s about the birds and the bees etc my father made it seem as if it was ok to masturbate as long as they weren’t having premarital sex???

And after being pointed out several things here in the forum my questions have grown and I am curious…🤷

Sorry if these questions have all ready been asked, just you know??? Wanted to get better informed…

I mean these things have happened and almost everyone in my family as far as I know are Catholics so wondering if they were ok with the things that have happened to them you know?

Masturbation isn’t necessarily a sin because of spilling of seed. It’s because it’s a completely selfish act that takes sex out of the context it was meant for.

Remember though that only Blasphemy of the Holy Spirit, ie Reject Christ, is unforgivable. And it is so because that person would never ask to be forgiven.

If these things have happened be sure that you or your family seek confession. We all make mistakes.

Nope sorry not that kind of Catholic…🤷

Yes I had caught my exhubby masturbating before, and since my parents had stated it was normal well I never said anything at all to him about it…sometimes he would fall asleep on my couch and if I would wake up to go to the bathroom in the middle of the night I would hear him or something and it kind of bothered me but as I was told it’s natural so I didn’t say anything…

But I guess it’s wrong…
