I subscribe to the Catholic Devotional magazine *The Word Among Us.*With the latest edition, there is a notice that there are companies that are sending out unauthorized invoices and notifications to WAU subscribers. These companies are fraudulently attempting to charge customers double what it normally costs to subscribe or renew.

There is a warning to only renew one’s subscription directly to WAU in Frederick, MD and discard any notice from any other company.

This fraud has been going on for almost 6 months. The WAU picked up on it very quickly & informed all subscribers in a timely fashion. I have always renewed my subscription directly through WAU. I have been doing so since the magazine’s inception.

I had gotten some of the unauthorized notices at times over the past few months. I simply discarded them because I had renewed my subscription. I didn’t know they were fraudulent until this week when I received the current issue of the magazine. Just thought I would put this thread on CAF in case anyone may not have gotten the warning. 🤷

I just received my June copy and was surprised to see how many different names they use to scam people. I have been fortunate not to have received fraudulent notices from any of them yet but I am thankful for the warning!

And as you may have noticed,it is not just Word Among Us subscribers, but some major secular publications, such as Wall Street Journal and TV Guide customers who are also getting scammed.
