Is the Word on Fire Bible appropriate for non-beginners? I heard that the WoF Bible is branded to be accessible for non-believers / fallen away Catholics / skeptics. What does this mean for the depth of the commentary? Would it still be good for someone who’s been a practicing Catholic for 10 years and wants to use it for personal Lectio Divina?

It sounds to me as though it might be just what you are looking for. At a minimum, it is a nicely bound copy of Sacred Scripture. And, many of us glossed over some points along the way, or failed to fully understand them. As well, it is another perspective on the faith which may open some avenues of contemplation for you.

I don’t think you can go wrong here.

The Word on Fire Bible packages the NRSV-CE edition with artwork and commentary. It is not a new translation. The Bible itself is appropriate for Lectio Divina, and the commentary and artwork may deepen your prayer life. As TheLittleLady said, it is only the four gospels - the full Word on Fire will be several volumes when it is fully released.

Oh - I should have specified. I’m OK with just the Gospels for my purposes.
