We are in a heat wave here in Ireland… Mid 70s is HOT for here for May… My first summer in this magical unspoilt island…

Today, I sat outside, gazing over the calm Atlantic just a field away from my dwelling. The grass has been allowed to grow as, so long untended, rare wild flowers are thriving. Marsh Orchid, Speedwell… all my childhood favourites… the silver and gold we sing of as daisies and buttercups… flowers in every direction…

Swallows dancing overhead, sweeping in and swooping in wild aerobatics… and OH ! I have spent long while gazing at the blue skies trying to spot the impossibly songbird lark… And today, he rose from the ground before me , aching with song and fluttering upwards…

A pair of sparrows have nested in the 150 year old stone wall by my door. They think I have no idea so when they arrive with food, they sit there on the gutter, tiny beaks full of food, politley waiting for me to go away so they do not betray where their nest is… Ever felt unwelcome! And inside the shed I can hear the tiny new birds cheeping.

Let this life of summer feed us too and heal the bruises. Soothe the hurts…They are of Jesus who loved flowers and birds and spoke of them often. His gift to us for peace

Thank you Rose for sharing what you see around you and for your thoughts X God bless.
