Hi Sarah there are a few things to consider with your question.
some in false religions accuse the church of removing something like “reincarnation”, or whatever from the Bible. In this case, the burden of proof lays on them to prove that the Bible did indeed teach reincarnation or whatever in the first place. Bottom line, NO such text exists which was removed.
The second thing to consider is Textual Criticism, basically a manuscript was copied by hand, and copies would be sent to other cities, where more copies were made and sent out to yet other cities. Bottom line here, copists make mistakes. So, by comparing the 24,000 New Testament manuscripts we can safely remove the copist boo boos.
The third area is translation. Basically, translation is interpretation. Most good translators take tradition in account. The King James Bible was translated in 1611, and frankly the English language changes over time. So, the King James Bible itself has gone through several revisions. Also, there are translations like the New World Translation reflects the theological bias of their cult. I understand that the Catholic Church “controls” translations by giving or withholding their stamp of approval.
The final area is simply misprints. One edition of the King James Bible was known as the “wicked bible” because it left out the word “Not” in a commandment, which read, “thou Shault Commit Adultery”.
