Would it be sinful to do like a big school assignment on a Sunday? Like, 15 one-page article summaries and buying some supplies for it?

I think that it would only be a sin if you stayed home to do the articles and did not attend mass or spend time in prayer. The Catechism says,
"CCC 2185 On Sundays and other holy days of obligation, the faithful are to refrain from engaging in work or activities that hinder the worship owed to God, the joy proper to the Lord’s Day, the performance of the works of mercy, and the appropriate relaxation of mind and body. Family needs or important social service can legitimately excuse from the obligation of Sunday rest. The faithful should see to it that legitimate excuses do not lead to habits prejudicial to religion, family life, and health.
So, I think as long as you have gone to mass, then you can do your school work. Even “offer it up,” to God as prayer.

Try not to be too scrupulous. If you have something that needs to be done(and that sounds critical) you should do it-**just don’t let it stop you from going to Mass.

Ok, since I am by profession a college professor I’ll take the role of the nasty adult here…
why are waiting until Sunday to do your big project?
If you can’t master your time management skills, learn how to better use them.

I was thinking the same thing (as a mom, not a professor!). If we are called to dedicate Sunday to the Lord, then why not plan accordingly earlier in the week?

Mind work is not “toil” as we are supposed to avoid on Sunday, in fact, it is part of what we are made for.
I agree with the Prof. Who said, if your study skills are so precarious that you have to do the work in Sunday, do it, and achieve better study skills

depends, i think that if your hobby is carpentry, even if you made chairs, it would be fine, since a hobby is made for relaxation. so if making rosaries is your hobby i dont think it would be, or maybe if you made it as a way to serve God on sundays, altough im not sure.
