As as 30 yr old single my job is the most important thing for me at the moment.Anything bad that happens to my job will hurt me more than anything else. I would say my life is completely meaningless if I have no job…I ve been working for an manager for the past 5 months and my professional life has gone kinda up side…My manager is very un reasonable and intimidating at times and is a taunting type frequently.
I am very often scared to interact with her too because of this.

She seems to be interested in finding out only my mistakes(some times not serious at all types). In the past 1 month or so my motivation has been all time low and I find myself to be very unproductive.Un necessary stress is making me less productive.

I am a 100% dedicated employee otherwise but I am finding this to be very difficult.Wonder why God allows this when he knows that I am a sincere employee
In the beginning of the year when I started working for her I used to pray about this and things used to go ok…Now is it because that I don’t pray much about this things are not going ok?
I dont feel motivated to pray also about this matter.Any advice?

I had a bullying manager a few years back that eventually lead to my dismissal later. At that time I resorted to occasional absenteeism but this time I have not gone that way.

Even if I have nothing else in the one thing I want to have is a good job…This one is a good one but looking at the things are not going at the right way

PS:I could end up getting fired if things go wrong
PS:Any prayers will be helpful

you say you used to pray and things were ok but now you’re not praying. I would say that its probably related but not because God is punishing you. From my own experience with work anxiety and other issues, its because you are not putting God first and putting too much emphasis on your job. What I mean by that is, that when you put God first you will experience joy and whatever happens at work will not hold as much weight …good or bad. J-O-Y = Jesus first, Others, then You.

The other thing is, that God may be trying to lead you elsewhere and to a better place. The only way you will know that for sure is to listen to Him. That will require you to pray and listen. Ask God to take control of your life and lead you where He wants you.

This may not happen over night, but be persistent! Remember, work supports your life, you’re life doesn’t support your work. Let God have the wheel and see where he steers you!

I said a prayer for you!

Praying to St. Joseph for you to have a better work enviornment.

Hi there-

Convert gave you a lot of good suggestions!

First, God wants you to have complete fulfillment in your work and with your co-workers too. He wants you to be peaceful and joyful and in full communion with Him. If you had peace before with prayer, I would try praying again, not necessarily just to improve your work situation and to have more peace at work (although yes prayer will help with that too) but just because God wants your time and your relationship. Yes prayer does help us to know the deepest desires of our hearts, but also, the deepest desire of our heart is prayer itself. It is being united to God in prayer. And having that strength in prayer, that humility receive by praying, we are able to carry that over wherever we go. We will be able to not just live at peace while at work even among a difficult work environment, but we will shine our light onto others.

These work situations are tough. Dealing with an overbearing boss is never easy. I assure you though if you pray for her and constantly forgive her (yet not be a doormat either) you will feel better about the situation. Be assured that your job supports your life like Convert said. It is a means to an end, not an end itself. God is still with you even if you don’t have a job. Your life is full of meaning just because you are God’s child.

I’m a 30 year old male too and I know what it’s like being caught up in the rat race. Yet, are the people in the rat race truly joyful? It is funny what we humans do: a lot of us (hopefully not us) waste all of our health to try to get as much money as possible, and then when we get old, we use up all our money on trying to get health!

Rest assured knowing God is with you and He wants you to receive all the deepest desires of your heart. Turn to Him and He will make your burden light. Pray for your boss, pray for patience and the virtues needed to succeed at work, and offer up all your work each day for the greater glory of God! Set the world on fire with your joy my friend! Best of luck to you.
