What do you think firemen and policemen do when their job shift includes Sundays??? Also what about doctors and nurses – their job shift must include Sundays – people get sick every day.
It probably depends on the situation. What sort of job is it? Is it a job that it is necessary on a Sunday such as a policeman or a bus driver? Or is it like in a retail store that could easily be closed on Sunday and is only open in order to make more of a profit? Also, is it possible for you to be off on Sunday, or would you lose the job if you couldn’t work that day?
I work at a grocery store in the delhi, so I wouldn’t deem it as important as a police officer or any of the other things you guys mentioned. However, on the weekends most of the people there are off. So if I asked for a day off then, I’d just be taking someone else’s day off.
Skyhighblue34 asks :** “My job has me working on Sundays from 8 to 5. Is this a sin?”**
I am not sure what you are asking:
Is it a Sin for your boss to assign you to work on a Sunday? or
Is it a Sin for a person to work on a Sunday?
Why did you take this Job that requires you to work on Sundays?
It seems like you should have worried about its Sin-status BEFORE you agreed to take it (unless you just heard someone talking about it)…
Beyond that, why do you suspect that working on Sundays COULD ever be a Sin?
I ask this because I have never heard any such thing before (that is, except for certain Religious Jews, but they don’t work from Sunset on Friday, to Sunset on Saturday).
