World’s conscience, modern-day apostle Pope John Paul II to be Beatified

The Vatican has today announced the Beatification of Pope John Paul II, with the ceremony to take place in Rome on May 1.

The Congregation for the Causes of Saints published the decree for the Beatification this afternoon, which moves the predecessor of Pope Benedict XVI a step closer to sainthood.
