I just heard that the Rainbow Coalition was back to its old ways on Sunday at Archbishop Flynn’s special World Marriage Day Mass for engaged and married couples

Does anyone know anything about this? I certainly hope that the Cathedral won’t once again be desecrated by this group. 😦

Here’s the local news story about it: World Marriage Day Protest. The archdiocese has issued a statement in favor of the Marriage Amendment that would declare marriage as solely between one man and one woman.

A friend of mine who goes to the cathedral showed me the handouts the Rainbow Coalition was giving out after mass. One was talking about who they were and the other was urging everyone to call their legislators and tell them to vote against a marriage amendment. It’s rather disturbing. 😦

I understand that it wasn’t just outside, but that they did exactly what they were told they shouldn’t do; they received Holy Communion, arm bands and all.

This comes right on top of another upsetting situation. Our pastor knew weeks ago that the postcard campaign to pass the marriage amendment was coming up on Sunday. Dutifully, he had the cards on a table along with many other things that parishioners might pick up after Mass, but not a single word from the pulpit. He announced the availability of blood pressure screening and the need for blood donors in an upcoming drive, but not a single word about the marriage amendment campaign.

His only bulletin announcement was also on Sunday, and the bulletins are picked up by Mass goers on their way OUT of the church usually to be read at home!!!

I honestly don’t know what is going on.

:nope:
