I have heard from fairly reliable sources that the Watchtower branch will be sending 30-40specially trained “brothers” all under 26 years of age to infiltrate the festivities in Madrid and hand out their literature. I’m sure this has been done at WYD’s before by other denominations, but I thought I’d put it out there so others in Europe can warn as many as possible. I guess the “sting” will be to “innocently” ask what the gathering is all about and then spring their pitch. If I hear more, I’ll post it on this site. Let’s pray for the Catholic youth attending to stand firm in their faith, as I’m sure they’ll be other anti Catholic movements as well trying to lure them away.

The thing that bugs me the most about this is that JW’s get bent out of shape when “apostates” show up at their assemblies and conventions, and yet they’ll attempt this. If the above info is in fact true, the hypocrisy of that religion never ceases to amaze me…

“God, our Father, we thank You for the gift of love and the gift of life. We thank
you for the gift of our children. We ask You to send Your holy angels to protect
and guide them each day so that they will walk the narrow path of purity, selfcontrol
and obedience, as was taught to us by Your own Son, Jesus Christ. We ask
this through Jesus Christ our Lord, in union with the Holy Spirit. Amen.”

Our Lady of Guadalupe . . . pray for our youth.

St. Michael . . . pray for our youth.

St. Charles Borromeo . . . pray for our youth.

It’s such a shame that they sink so low to target the youth. It’s kind of like bullying.

:rotfl::rotfl: Wondering if the JW have ever been to A World Youth Day? They won’t stand a chance:D:D

I was thinking the same thing. The kind of youth who go to WYD are no generally the regular Catholic. However, we should not neglect what the OP said. You never know who may meet who. It’s good to know and be aware that some sects actually do do those kind of things and can weaken and even destroy the faith of a weak person.

I’d heard of one WYD where some group, idk if it was Protestant or JW or Mormon or what, was handing out pamphlets that LOOKED Catholic. It had a picture of Mary on the cover I think?

One man knew what was going on so he yelled above the crowd that the guy was distributing anti-Catholic literature. A group of youths chased off the guy and threw away the pamphlets he left behind. 😛

If you want to proselytize people, the least you can do is be *honest *about it, IMO.

I say bring it!👍

And I wonder, will the “brothers” they send be particularly “hot” or something? They will have do smething to make themselves standout from the guys in the host country not to mention all the priests qnd relious in habit that will be there. That’s who the kids will flock to.

Let’s pray that our Pope and our youth will be a witness to them. And maybe in few years we’ll read '“Damascus Road” in " This Rock" about a guy to went to World Youth Day 2011 as a JW to…to…do what ever it is they do, and he saw the joy, heard the truth and was a seed planted.

Nearly 1 million enthusiastic young Catholics and 6-7 JWs, hmmm… maybe the JWs will be inspired and convert! 🙂

What would even be better is if Westboro Baptist Church showed up.

1 million angry Catholic youth vs. 2 WBC Members…Who will win?
