Is this really accurate? We’re going to have less than 10% of the priests we had before?Seminarians:
1965: 48,000
2007: 4,200
Is this only for the United States?

First of all, the Black Death only increased mass attendance percentages, as well as confession, because at that time the faithful believed the plague to be punishment for their wickedness. People only became more concerned with their relationship with God and pleasing Him, not the opposite. So, in actuality, the Black Death did not have destructive effects on the Church. It’s much if the black death is ravaging the world again, people are dropping dead all over the place, and some people refuse to accept it.
We can take solace in the fact, however, that the black death probably did more harm to the Church than the spirit of Vatican II.
The Crisis is worldwide, but those stats are from the U.S. only.Is this really accurate? We’re going to have less than 10% of the priests we had before?

What about those who don’t want “solid Catholic teaching, good Bishops, obedient priests, reverent liturgy”? What about those who aren’t even sure they believe in God. You have to meet people where they are. Someone I know used to say that all the time, and back then, I couldn’t stand it- because I needed to go deeper than they were willing to go. Looking back, I respect that about them. As I have grown up a little more, I have come to understand that if you set something on a level too high, it just goes right over their heads and they don’t even bother to try and sort it out- they are content to let it pass them by…but if you meet them where they are- or just slightly above, you can earn their trust and respect, and once you have it you can bring them up to the level they need to be.That’s just it. I don’t want to be reached out to. I just want solid Catholic teaching, good Bishops, obedient priests, reverent liturgy. I don’t need a bunch of contrived, dumbed-down nonsense “designed” for youth. I don’t need the base elements of our corrupt, modern culture reworked and adapted to the faith. Catholic culture is good enough for me.
The Traditional Latin Mass is the greatest youth magnet of all, as far as I’m concerned. It’s the antidote to all the garbage that Catholic youth like me had to put up with for so long.
You have more faith than most Catholic faithful, priests, and Bishops? Good Gawd! That comment speaks volumes. Your arrogance is astounding! God help us! They won’t let you into seminary with that attitude, and well they shouldn’t!I don’t know if you misread or what, but I did not say the Catholic faith is dead, I said that the faith was dead to most people. They have no faith. The faith was dead TO THEM. I didn’t say the Church was dead.
I have no faith? You ignoramus. I have been defending the traditional faith for years. I have more faith than most Catholics, priestas, and bishops. You have no idea the work, dedication, and faith it takes in these dark days. I have called priests heretics to their face and have defended the dogmas of the Church against their attacks against the Bible, faith, and Christ.
As a baptized member of the Church I am part of the Church and it will be the laity along with the clergy that will restore the Church. When there has been apostasies before, The laity started grass-roots movements and against corrupt hierarchies. Good and holy men then entered the clergy.
BTW, I am still discerning my vocation. I might still become a priest and help the Church that way.
Priest or Lay I will be faithful to the faith and truth.
Have you ever seen a priest deny the divinity of Christ? I have. I have seen them in my presence tell me that Christ was just a man, Genesis was a myth, Women should be priests, contraception is moral, etc. Of coarse I defended the faith and Christ and told those priests that they were heretics and on their way to hell. God will deal with those who are in charge of his flock more harshly. Better a millstone around their neck. You have more faith than most Catholic faithful, priests, and Bishops? Good Gawd! That comment speaks volumes. Your arrogance is astounding! God help us! They won’t let you into seminary with that attitude, and well they shouldn’t!
You have called priests heritics to their face? “Rebuke not an elder” mean anything to you? Saints help us!
I hope you approach them one-on-one, and then if your issue is not resolved, take it to the Bishop or Vicar General one–on-one instead of gossipping about them!
I know the Faithful have quite a huge roll in the Church. IF needed, they should confront the pastor or priest privately, and then if needed approach the Bishop. But you are “Clericalizing” yourself by setting yourself up as their superior or their authority. You are not. You and I, my friend, are on the bottom rung of the latter.
I have never seen such arrogance!
By lowering the faith down to what they presumed to be “my level”, they only drove me away. The method of giving in to the spirit of the world has failed. What about those who don’t want “solid Catholic teaching, good Bishops, obedient priests, reverent liturgy”? excuse me, who said anything about “feeling each other up”? I believe that his your perverted distortion. Nice way to think about the youth in our Church Dauphin.A bunch of young people feeling each other up in a mosh pit is a wholesome event, is it?
Well, traditionalists want a small Church right? So what are you whining about? The Catholic Faith is DEAD for most Catholics and around the world. There is only a remnant.
Stats tell the truth. The Apostasy cannot be denied.
77% of Catholics don’t go to Mass. That is a crisis. The vast majority of Catholics are on their way to damnation.
Mass Atendance
1958: 77%
2007: 23%
Seminarians:
1965: 48,000
2007: 4,200
over 80% of Catholics do not believe in the real presense of Jesus in the Eucharist.
In 50 years I hope I can say that I kept the Traditional Catholic Faith through the apostasy and chastisements. That I was part of the restoration and the triumph of the Immaculate Heart of Mary.
The last mosh pit I was in, I came out with a black eye and a busted nose. The other guy on the other hand…excuse me, who said anything about “feeling each other up”? I believe that his your perverted distortion. Nice way to think about the youth in our Church Dauphin.Good Lord!
You are absolutely right, those who recognize the Church’s major problems of today are just angry traditionalists, way to generalize people!Well, traditionalists want a small Church right? So what are you whining about?![]()
Anything but… we still believe in Extra Ecclessium Nulla Salus. If we could, we would try and convert the whole world. But alas, in today’s Church we have such novel concepts as “the Jews are saved by virtue of their own covenant”. Well if that be the case, find me a Yalmuka and a Torah, I’m headed off to temple!Well, traditionalists want a small Church right? So what are you whining about?![]()
Freshman, I saw body surfing. Something we did going to concerts. I didn’t see any violent mosh pit as you suggest. I think you assumed that. The last mosh pit I was in, I came out with a black eye and a busted nose. The other guy on the other hand…
Mosh pits are very violent in nature, and extremely physical. I’m scratching my head wondering how they could fit a mosh pit in a religious setting.
That is not true Catholicism. We have to be faithful to Jesus and baptize all nations. We don’t want people to go to hell.Well, traditionalists want a small Church right? So what are you whining about?![]()

Traditional Catholic teaching teaches the doctrine of the social reign of Christ the King. Every Catholic should read Pope Puis XI’s encyclical Quas Primas.
Jesus is king of all: Church, state, politics, economics, family, every aspect of society.
The goal and the ideal is to make the whole world Catholic. Every nation state should be Catholic. All people being Catholic.
The Catholic Church should rule through a Christendom that covers the whole world.
Well, I was joking. I guess that didn’t come across even though I did use the little smile guyThat is not true Catholicism. We have to be faithful to Jesus and baptize all nations. We don’t want people to go to hell.

The event sure didn’t look like it was set up with modesty in mind.I would blame the kids first, the ones that will be sexually immoral, or otherwise immoral, are going to be so no matter what the “place background and [any]thing esle”
Next I would blame the chaperones. It is thier responsibility to make sure no illegal substances make the trip to begin with, and thier responsibility to keep control of the kids. If they cant keep control, they obviously need more chaperones or less kids. My Church requires at least 1 chaperone per every (i think) 10 kids, and tries to get more if possible.
Last i would blame the organizers. They didnt organize the place to avoid all immorality becuase that would be impossible. The only way to do that would be to have seperate boy and girl events, and even that would not be a sure way. They set up the event with modesty in mind, and probably include plenty of places for those who want to listen to the music but not mosh, and places for those who dont want to listen at all. And as I said before, If a bus can be kept seperate boy and girl, surely a campsite can be done the same.
The black death killed at least a third of the priests, probably more. From a secular perspective, it did more damage. However, you’re right to say that the loss of temporal life is meaningless compared to the loss of eternal life.First of all, the Black Death only increased mass attendance percentages, as well as confession, because at that time the faithful believed the plague to be punishment for their wickedness. People only became more concerned with their relationship with God and pleasing Him, not the opposite. So, in actuality, the Black Death did not have destructive effects on the Church.
Am I wrong to assume that the event went on for a week, and weve both seen 5 minutes of it? A person trying to show that it is evil is not going to show Papal Masses that were probably silent, Adoration that probably happened at least once, times and places where people could silently meditate, etc.The event sure didn’t look like it was set up with modesty in mind.
Hey I’ve got an idea. Instead of giving these kids what they can get at home, mosh pits, raves, really cool music and a lot of male female social interaction why not give them some things that I doubt many of them have even heard of let alone participated in:,
How about Expositions of the Blessed Sacrament and a Solemn Benediction or two? Or how about a Communal Rosary thrown in for good measure, or maybe a Pontifical Solemn High Mass? Or if you want to get really radical how about a Perpetual Adoration Chapel set up for the event? Think many of those at the rave would be there in silent adoration? Probably not but I’ll bet the ones truly there for the faith would be.
Why not expose them top the best that Catholicism has to offer rather then shamelessly pandering to the lowest common denominator. ie: loud music, sensuality and a communal good time?.
After all it is supposed to be a religious centered Catholic event isn’t it?
.
Or am I wrong on that one?
Great lets see the clips of it. I’m sure someone there videotaped this thing from a positive perspective. Hey if there was good at that event I want to see it. But if all we have to go by is the nonsense off that video and the rationalizations by those who support these things, then what are we to think? I didn’t see the supporters jump up and say things like its only five minutes and not reflective of the event… Nope, they defended what was there. That leads me to believe that there wasn’t much else or someone would have spoken up.Am I wrong to assume that the event went on for a week, and weve both seen 5 minutes of it?
