Hello everyone!

I’d just like to take a moment to ask everyone here to pray for the safety of the World Youth Day Pilgrims, many of whom will begin their journey next week.

I am one of these pilgrims, and among much excitement for this encounter with Christ, I also feel great fear and dread about the possibility of terrorism. Ever since the attacks on Paris, these fears have nagged at me. It makes my mother and Grandma very nervous for my safety which does not help alleviate my own fears. My dad thinks these fears could be the devil’s way of trying to keep me from going out and getting the abundant graces I would receive on this pilgrimage. I am really at a loss of what to think right now.

So, if you could pray for everyone’s safety, it would be greatly appreciated. I will be praying for you all as well! Thank you!!

Praying the novena prayer for the feast of Our Lady of Mount Carmel (July 16) for you and all of the WYD pilgrims. You might like to pray it, too.
O most beautiful Flower of Mount Carmel, Fruitful Vine, Splendor of Heaven, who brought forth the Son of God still remaining a Virgin, assist us in this necessity.
O Star of the Sea, help us, and show us that you are our Mother.

O Holy Mary, Mother of God, Queen of Heaven and earth, we humbly ask you from the depths of our heart to help us in this necessity. There are none who can withstand your power.
O show us that you are our Mother.

O Mary, conceived without sin, pray for us who have recourse to thee. Sweet Mother, we place this cause in your hands. Amen.

World Youth Day – Official International Prayer

God, merciful Father,
in your Son, Jesus Christ,
you have revealed your love
and poured it out upon us
in the Holy Spirit, the Comforter.
We entrust to you today
the destiny of the world
and of every man and woman.
We entrust to you, in a special way
young people of every language,
people and nation:
Guide and protect them as they walk
the complex paths of the world today
and give them the grace to reap abundant fruits
from their experience of
the Krakow World Youth Day.
Heavenly Father, grant that we
may bear witness to your mercy.
Teach us how to convey the faith
to those in doubt,
hope to those who are discouraged,
love to those who feel indifferent,
forgiveness to those who have done wrong
and joy to those who are unhappy.
Allow the spark of merciful love
that you have enkindled within us
become a fire that can transform hearts
and renew the face of the earth.
Amen.

*Mary, Mother of Mercy, pray for us.
St. John Paul II, pray for us.

Prayers Before Setting Out on a Pilgrimage

God of the guiding star, the bush that blazes,
show us Your way.
God of the stormy seas, the bread that nourishes,
teach us Your truth.
God of the still, small voice, the wind that blows where it chooses,
fill us with life.
God of the elements, of our inward and outward journeys,
set our feet on Your road today.
May God bless us with a safe journey,
may the Angels and Saints travel with us,
may we live this day in justice and joy. Amen.

:signofcross:

May our Lord Jesus Christ and our Holy Blessed Mother be with all at the pilgrimage.

Glory be to the Father, and to the Son, and to the Holy Spirit…Amen!

Good idea!! St. Joseph, Pope St. John Paul II, St. Christopher, pray for us!!

Gracious and merciful Father, please come to their assistance.

Our Father, who art in Heaven, hallowed be thy name.
Thy kingdom come, thy will be done, on Earth as it is in Heaven.
Give us this day our daily bread,
and forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us.
And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil.
Amen.

Hail Mary, full of grace, the Lord is with thee.
Blessed art thou among women, and blessed is the fruit of thy womb Jesus.
Holy Mary, Mother of God, pray for us sinners, now and at the hour of our death.
Amen.

Glory Be to the Father, and to the Son, and to the Holy Spirit.
As it was in the beginning, is now, and ever shall be, world without end.
Amen.

Saint Michael, the archangel, defend us in battle, be our defense against the wickedness and snares of the devil, may God rebuke him, we humbly pray. And do you, O’ Prince of the Heavenly host, by the power of God thrust into Hell Satan and all the other evil spirits who prowl about the world for the ruin of souls.

Amen.

Our Father who art in Heaven, hallowed be thy name.

Thy kingdom come, thy will be done on Earth as it is in Heaven.

Give us this day our daily bread.

And forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us.

And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil.

Amen.

Hail Mary, full of grace, the Lord is with thee.

Blessed are you among women, and blessed is the fruit of your womb Jesus.

Holy Mary, Mother of God, pray for us sinners, now and at the hour of our death.

Amen.

Remembering you and all World Youth Day pilgrims in my daily prayers. God bless.
