should i be happy about my baby even though i sinned? (pregnant, not married) do i deserve to raise my baby?

Yes and Yes.

Everything will be fine. Have faith in Jesus and his mercy. Raise your child as best as you can. Pray constantly. Seek confession often. Receive communion weekly.

God Bless you on your journey.

Motherhood is both terrible and wonderful. You never think you’ll willingly catch someone else’s vomit with your hands, but when it’s your hands or the high-chair cover that can’t go in the dryer that you just washed, you make choices.

yes! yes!

My sister had a baby out of wedlock (very young, still a teen), and despite the circumstances of her conception, having a daughter was a wonderful and joyful event. She has gone through some difficult times in the past few years, but she is now also blessed with a husband and a new baby, and a deepening relationship with her daughter. The entire family was blessed by the birth of my niece!

Unwanted pregnancy does not equal unwanted child! You made a serious mistake. One of the ways you can make reparations is to be the very best mom you can be.

i never said i dont want my baby. the fact that i want my baby makes me feel like i sinned and am getting rewarded.

Be happy and enjoy your pregnancy. Your baby is a gift and is no less of a joy or gift just because you aren’t married. I’ll pray for you to gain confidence and make sure you are receiving good prenatal healthcare.🙂

Having a child is always a happy event. The timing might not be ideal or the circumstances may not be what God intended for them to be BUT there is new life about to enter this world. You are going to be a mom, it’s scary and exciting all rolled into one. You will love this child and care for it like you never thought possible.

Will it be an easy road, no (but realistically it isn’t for anyone) but happy. God is forgiving and loving. He will forgive you if you ask Him…

Healthy and happy nine months to you and your baby…

You sinned yes, but you can be forgiven. Check, we all sin one way or another. No one is perfect, we are human. I would just be happy for the baby and enjoy every minute from here on out.

My"gift" is now about to turn thirty and it’s an awesome woman who is currently a California Bar licensed attorney. I can not imagine my life without her!

Yes.

I am so sorry. I never intended for you to get that message. That was not what I meant at all.
Let me try again:

Just because your pregnancy came at a less than ideal time does not mean that your child won’t be a much loved blessing to you and your loved ones. The situation you find yourself in is a difficult one, but you will raise your child to be a fine person.

Again, I am sorry for the unintended hurt I caused. 😊

I once heard a very smart person point out that a baby is the very best thing that can come out of sexual sin. This, of course, is quite countercultural, but think about it for a moment. Is sexual sin acceptable? Of course not! But God can use anything for good, and a new, innocent life, with all the possibilities that that entails, is one of the very highest goods in this world, and something to be loved, celebrated, and looked forward to regardless of the circumstances of its conception. One can regret how a baby was conceived, perhaps, but that doesn’t mean that the baby isn’t one iota less worthy of love!
