I am very worried about a close relative. She went to the doctor at the beginning of this year to discover she had a prolapsed womb. Shortly afterwards she got a ring pessary inserted to hold the prolapse back but ever since she has have had bleeding occasionally. This person is between the 60 - 70 age group. She went back to the doctor when the bleeding started and is now waiting for further tests. She is getting an ultasound shortly along with another procedure. I am so worried and am thinking all kinds of things. Please pray that she will be ok and it is nothing serious. I have OCD so I am thinking all kinds of negative serious thoughts…I googled info about it all recently and it really freaked me out what I read. I started a novena at the start of this week to Our Lady undoer of Knots so that everything will be ok for her. Please pray the bleeding is nothing serious and she will be ok. I feel I am really overly freaking out as in thinking the worst and just negative thoughts about it all…is this coming for OCD/ anxiety that I have? I wish i hadnt of googled about it all cause it freaked me out so much. My family aren’t freaking out like this in fact they are the opposite! I have put everything in Our Lady’s hands to help her and I feel I am offending Our Lady by my fears. Please help? Thank you?

This.

Look at it this way: In any given family situation, any typical person might be the one in the family who finds some particular health issue very upsetting, but it isn’t reasonable to give you advice appropriate for someone who suffers from typical anxieties. That would be like giving advice suitable for a typical upset stomach problem to someone who celiac disease.

Your OCD is an unusually challenging kind of anxiety, but you have a diagnosis. That is powerful knowledge. Remind yourself to find people with expertise in your particular trial and take their advice about the strategies that are most likely to work for you. It won’t make your problem magically go away, but it will give you the most likely ways to deal with it and to face anxiety-inducing situations in spite of it.

Hello,
If you’re OCD I recommend buying a 1962 Roman Missal. I have the baronius press.

Start doing all the morning and evening prayers.

Then daily Rosary and Daily chaplet.

Also use all resources necessary such as what was recommended above. But do not disregard spiritual life.

Praying for your relative and for you to have peace of mind.

We must trust in God. Let us both pray for her and your spiritual, temporal, and physical needs.

a year ago, I had a diagnosis that I saw in writing that was not as bad as I thought it was. I do have a problem, but not as bad as I thought it was.

So, put some trust in the doctors, too, that they will take the appropriate action, as long as this lady keeps her appointments and tells the doctor her symptoms.

Yes!

And…(from one who also suffers from OCD)…

STAY OFF THE INTERNET!!! 👍

Yes. The Google fueled research binges are not healthy.
That is so true 👍
When I goggled about my relatives problem, Google told me every negative trick in the book, it had me in tears the night I researched about my relatives condition…so much I was upset for a few days.
