I have to admit, that as much as I didn’t care for Whitney Houston’s singing this is one of the best “star-sung” Star Spangled Banner I’ve ever heard. But I’ve rarely heard a rendition that didn’t make me comment “Too many notes!”
I actually like Jimi Hendrix’s version.

Yes, it’s pretty unsingable if you don’t have talent. or at least a good range. But I think it sounds pretty good (and no, I’m not American).

Who, of a certain age, doesn’t? 😃

Bil-ly don’t be a he-ro don’t be a fool with your life …

the immortal Bo Donaldson (AND the Heywoods)! :dancing:

Bad song man. Bad song.

I Am Woman
Helen Reddy

I am woman, hear me roar *< Opening line clinched at least the playoffs in this category. *

In numbers too big to ignore

And I know too much to go back an’ pretend

'Cause I’ve heard it all before

And I’ve been down there on the floor

No one’s ever gonna keep me down again

It’s a shame all other class warfare categories can’t have an anthem this bad. :nope:

Heck with songs. I can dispense with whole genres here.
  • Rap. To me, rap means “I can’t sing”.
  • Hip-Hop…“All this money, and my clothes don’t fit.”
  • Grunge…“All this money, and I can’t afford soap.”
  • 80’s hair metal…“My clothes were rejected by Cher.” (PS “So was my makeup.”)
  • 80’s pop ballads…“Because first-aid kits do not contain insulin.”
  • Punk…“It takes a lot of money to look this bad.”
  • Grateful Dead…“Do weed. You won’t like us otherwise.”
  • Disco…“Coke, not weed, because I’m flammable.”
  • Britney-Christina-Ashley-etc…“I like forty-something guys who hang out in chat rooms…and so should your daughters.”
  • Boy bands…“Possibly not even anatomically correct! Safe for girls of all ages!”
  • Madonna…“Who haven’t I offended yet?”
  • Progressive Jazz…“We actually play swing, we’re just tuning up.”
  • Glee clubs…Because it’s just wrong
:bowdown::bowdown2:

I found out there isn’t MUCH music I dislike. I can GO with many genres with the right attitude adjustment.

That said … the short little singalong lists that included “This is the Song that never Ends” (Shari Lewis and Charley Horse doing it were precious you Philistines!) … there’s
**Black Socks ** (GEDC) < repeat these chords … and all lyrics … forever!
Black socks, they never get dirty.
The longer you wear them, the stronger they get.
Some times I think of the laundry,
But something inside me says:
“Don’t send them yet.”
… not yet not yet not yet not yet …
youtube.com/watch?v=FJBlXDOPoUA < the tune with slightly altered lyrics
To add to the “bad” hilarity for those who LIKE bad … some of these can be sung in rounds … several parts … onandonandonandon …😃
