Hello everyone,

I have had a hard time lately letting people love me. Whenever someone shows that they care about me, I am overcome with fear. This fear is rooted in the fact that I don’t think I am worth loving. I have tried to think about this from every angle but no matter what, I feel like I am a failure and that people just shouldn’t love me. I am always open to suggestions on how I can fix this but I actually am posting this because I am wondering why people are worth loving. I look at anyone else apart from myself and I love them and I know they are worth loving but when I try to understand my worth… I’m at a loss for words. Sorry if this sound like a random bit of rambling on… Thanks for your time.

God bless!

Take time every day to look back and recall what you did right and what you did well that day. Not in terms of how others would have done things or any kind of comparison, just look at how you are doing compared against yourself.

Sunburst2014’s advice is good. Also, think about yourself as a person and the positive traits that you think you possess. Ask people what your positive personality traits are and keep a list of them. Also, I would recommend spending some time by yourself asking God what He thinks about you or going to a Catholic Charismatic Prayer Group to be Baptized in the Holy Spirit. Remember that God loves you and that He loves you through other people.

There is probably a very good reason you feel the way you do. Sometimes, even how we are raised can greatly affect confidence and self esteem down the road.

Reading on these issues might be helpful. Counseling is another option.

I can relate. Seek counseling, and remember that God so loved the world (and that includes you, personally) that He would sacrifice His only-begotten Son. I know, I know, it sounds trite at times, but we are called to believe in this as Christians every day.

You are loved, not just by God, but by the many people in your life. It’s easy to project your self-loathing onto other people. I do it all the time. These feelings are not the truth, and with the proper help, you can learn to disassociate yourself from those feelings.

Do not feel outcast. We’re all in this great struggle for wholeness together. God bless. :o

Why are we worth loving? Well, we are all worth loving because we were made in the image and likeness of God. That alone is sufficient reason.

God himself seemed to think even what we would consider “the most unworthy” was lovable enough to suffer and die over. So, if God finds us that valuable, who are we to argue?

Maybe the key lies in understanding the root cause behind why you think you are not lovable. How our parents loved us or did not love us can sometimes be a primary issue. When a child lacks positive affirmation from parents, then something is missing in that person even as an adult that must somehow be mended, it seems.

God made you in his image and likeness, and it was very intentional. You were very intentionally created. Probably you need to figure this out and bring yourself to live in the truth somehow that you are worth loving because God created you. You are his daughter, so to speak.

Okay, why are you trying to fix yourself?
Why would you follow other people and concentrate on the “home runs” you have hit in life?

There’s nothing to fix my friend, that’s the long and the short of it. I’ve failed, but I’ve only failed at life…

A lot of times I feel like I’ve never hit a touch down or shot a home run!!! That was supposed to be funny. Your to busy focusing on the here and now, is someone going to hurt me, purposely or even accidentally, your missing out on the free gifts of Christ.

Be the CHILD, Jesus says no one can enter unless they become like a child. Trust in God with child like faith, run far and free and know that if you stumble, angels will catch you.

I’ve lost a lot of brothers and friends. Thirty three Marines in my Battalion died in one deployment alone. I was deployed 6 times, some were my Marines, some were my superiors, and some were my peers. The Angel of Death has a way of sucking love, happiness, fun, compassion and all the good things in life right out of you even if he never touches ya…

One day at a time, one breathe a second, God will provide, not just food or shelter, God will PROVIDE!!! Trust in him, things will get better. Pray, surround yourself with the most health, helpful of habits, start the show. Once the show is going, talking, loving, feeling will come naturally… God’s here, we are here, I’m here, for you, never ending, never leaving, never without love…

First of all, thank you for your service. I will pray for the souls of those from your battalion who lost their lives. Also, thank you for your encouragement. It means a lot.

I also will say that I have faith in God that he will provide but I often feel like I make it difficult for him because I keep messing everything up. Like, sometimes I just feel like I am only good at hurting people. I don’t want that! It probably doesn’t help that I have socially isolated myself because I am scared that I will hurt people.

I feel like I am only existing; just getting by… I wish I could do a bit of living.

God loves you with an inestimable love, and so should every one of us love what God loves. God bless you.

Go to Google images and download a few good pictures of the Sacred Heart…download the ones you like and say " Sacred Heart of Jesus I Place my Trust in You or Sacred Heart of Jesus have mercy on me." You should be able to feel a profound sense of God’s love for you if you maintain this practice.

Okay, first my apologies on taking so long to write, second, you aren’t making it harder for God at all. Think of yourself in the middle of vast space, light and dark mix, as God is pure light and everything else is dark. You and God are walking hand in hand, then you take a step away from him. Your soul cries out, it desperately wants to be with The Lord, but you have committed Original Sin. God is still right there, all you need to do is step toward him, but now the darkness has come partially in between you and The Lord.

God will remain there hands, arms outstretched, waiting to catch you, but you must make the attempt to come to him. His is the true path and falter he will not.

More to follow…
