Glad I was able to choose a prayer that’s personally meaningful to you. 🙂

Here’s a Bible verse for you from today’s Liturgy of the Hours:

Short reading 1 Peter 4:10 - 11 ©
Each one of you has received a special grace, so, like good stewards responsible for all these different graces of God, put yourselves at the service of others. If you are a speaker, speak in words which seem to come from God; if you are a helper, help as though every action was done at God’s orders; so that in everything God may receive the glory, through Jesus Christ, since to him alone belong all glory and power for ever and ever. Amen.

God, our Father,
I turn to You seeking Your Divine help and guidance
as I look for suitable employment.
I need Your wisdom to guide my footsteps along the right path,
and to lead me to find the proper things to say
and do in this quest.
I wish to use the gifts and talents You have given me,
but I need the opportunity to do so with gainful employment.
Do not abandon me, dear Father, in this search,
but rather grant me this favor I seek
so that I may return to You with praise and thanksgiving
for your gracious assistance.

Prayers for the Unemployed
to Lord of All Hopefulness

Dear Lord Jesus Christ, You wanted all who are weary to come to You for support. Lord, I am worn out by my inability to find wage-earning work.
Day after day, my worry and fear grows as the rejections of my applications mount. I am able and willing to work—but I cannot find a worthwhile job.
Please help me to obtain one soon so that I can support myself and my family
in a decent way.

However, if it is your will that I wait longer, enable me to worry less
and to be able to take advantage of the time available to get closer to You.
Let me realize that there are other ways to bring about your kingdom on earth
besides salaried work. Help me to make use of them for the time being
so that I may continue to grow as a person for your greater glory. Amen.
Prayer to St. Joseph for Employment

Dear St. Joseph, you were yourself once faced with the responsibility of providing the necessities of life for Jesus and Mary. Look down with fatherly compassion upon me in my anxiety over my present inability to support my family. Please help me to find gainful employment very soon, so that this heavy burden of concern will be lifted from my heart and that I am soon able to provide for those whom God has entrusted to my care. Help us to guard against bitterness and discouragement, so that we may emerge from this trial spiritually enriched and with even greater blessings from God. Amen.
To Our Lady of Perpetual Help for Financial Aid

Realizing, dearest Mother of Perpetual Help, that thou art our perpetual help not only in spiritual but also in temporal necessities, we approach thee with submissive and humble hearts because we have a child-like and affectionate trust in thy power and goodness, beseeching thee to assist us in our present financial worry. Owing to untoward circumstances which have arisen in our lives, we are in dire want and pecuniary embarrassment, being unable to meet our honest debts.

We are not asking, dearest Mother, for wealth, if the possession of it is not in accordance with the holy will of God. We merely beg of thee that assistance which will enable us to satisfy our most pressing obligations. We believe, dear Mother of God, that thou art the Queen of Heaven and Earth, and as such, the instrument and special dispenser of thy divine Son’s graces; that thou hast acquired by virtue of thy wonderful dignity, a sweet jurisdiction over all creation. Employment Prayer

Mary our Lady of the Miraculous Medal, you once experienced hardships and difficulties in getting the necessities of life. Look kindly on me now as I face the same difficulties. Help me to find suitable employment. Through my work I want to meet my physical needs and to grow spiritually. Help me find a job that lets me provide for myself and for those who depend on me. I trust you, Immaculate Mother, to hear my prayers and intercede for me. I will share your goodness with others that they may know your power with God and give him honor and glory. Amen.

Prayer to St. Juan Diego
for Happy Employment

Dear Juan Diego, when the Lady of Tepeyac Hill gave you her picture, she also gave you a task to fill your days with happy labor. It was your privilege and joy to spend the hours caring for the chapel of the Tilma, telling its story to those who came there. Here the time of your earthly pilgrimage passed quickly and happily because you worked for Our Lady of Guadalupe.

Dear Juan Diego, please help me find steady employment that my time and talent may be devoted to the tasks suited to my nature and ability.

May my hours of toil then, give fair return and more to him who hires me. May my work not be done for mere profit, or just to make a living. Rather, may it be done to make of myself, one more able to honor the Creator. May it be done with reverence and appreciation of the materials, all supplied by God, and only modified by man. May my work be done to enjoy the benefits of skilled and honest craftmanship.

And especially let my work be done to make known and lead others to love the same Lady you serve so well.

I want you to know that you are still in my prayers. I am in the same boat as you, savings are gone…bills paid through November 15, am on a wing and a prayer…but…there are so many prayers out there right now that I am taking comfort in thought that God just has to hear them! Please know if you need to talk you can PM anytime. In the interim, I am praying for you daily.👍

I don’t know why I haven’t seen your thread earlier. What the heck is wrong with me??? I feel just awful. I am praying very hard that you find work! You deserve it. You deserve a respite from your laboring. God will see you through this! You will be in my rosaries, too.
