We make the claim that other religions, like the New Age/Eastern religions, have elements of that entice the devil because some of the stuff they do like meditation, energy healing, etc. leads to demonic attacks, possession, etc.
There are stories of Catholic saints who also faced these problems as well though. They were fiercely attacked by the devil. I think I even remember one saint even being possessed (correct me if I’m wrong). Now the reply to this is usually “That just means the devil is doing all he can to keep that person from getting closer to God.”
But couldn’t the New Age/Eastern religions make the same claim. “That is just a sign of the devil or “the self” obstructing one’s higher spirituality.” Alot of them even say that one HAS to go through all of that, in order to finally reach enlightenment and surpass all of that.
I’d like to know what separates the attacks by evil forces on devout Catholic/Christians compared to those of the New Age/Eastern belief.
