Is going to the park to relax for more than 2 hours a violation of the sabbath?
Greetings Fakename,Is going to the park to relax for more than 2 hours a violation of the sabbath?
If you are Jewish and thus bound by rules on keeping the Sabbath you should consult your rabbi. If you are Catholic, we are commanded to Keep Holy the Lord’s Day. The primary way we do that is of course participation at Mass, and also simply keeping the day quiet, holy, reverent, avoiding unnecessary work, spending time with family, relaxation in whatever form that takes for you. If you get paid all week to go to the park and relax, that is your work, so I guess you should refrain but would like to know your employer so I can apply. Is going to the park to relax for more than 2 hours a violation of the sabbath?
The Sabbath (Friday sundown till Saturday sundown) is a time that we should refrain from “unnecessary” work. Going to the park and relaxing is really what the Sabbath is all about, so it is most certainly not a violation.
