I caution you against this for a number of reasons having to do with timing and the need to refute something on a personal level. I assume you are not taking a course in comparative religions which would be unbiased, so my guess is that you are doing this without guidance. I would guess that the statement ‘false religion’ would indicate any religion that does not have the truth. While we could argue that truth is subjective to beliefs, that would only be true if God did not exist. Since God exists, there is a concrete and definitive truth.How do you define false religion? Surely you don’t mean something like Islam, Protestantism, or Judaism?
I think it would depend on your reason for doing so. If your faith is strong and you are not easily influenced, you should be fine. I don’t think there is anything wrong with educating yourself about other religions as long as your goal is equip yourself to reach out to them.Hello everyone. No. Being afraid to read views outside of that of your own religious views I think is motivated out of a lack of faith. Its burying your head in the sand. Christ is the way, the truth, and the life, so so long as you are searching for Truth, you are searching for Christ. That said, its important to know your faith really well. Reading about other faiths should lead you to more questions about your own faith which should lead you to reading more about your own faith for clarity. Having questions is not immoral. In fact, its good to have questions. Questions lead us to the search for answers and that leads us to learning more about our faith and ultimately strengthening our faith.
