I’m begining to think it would be a good idea for the conservative movement to to use moles. These moles could be law students who would basicly pretend to be liberal, donate small ammounts of money to liberal causes, than vote as conservatives when they get appointed to the bench.

I also believe that conservatives should try to win house seats and senate that always go democratic by being less than honest with voters about their views on abortion. But I deffinatly think there should be a conserted effort w. in the conservative movement to trick liberals in to appointing conservative judges.

To me, if it was ok for Barak Obama to lie about accepting public financing than anything goes.

I can see your point … but …

The problem that we will always face is quite simple.

Conservatives will be held to a higher standard. We have to live the values we proclaim. We will be attacked from every side – any dishonesty or feigned positions will be attacked and riduculed. We cannot act like liberals, who can use double-talk, and can reverse their own position at will. When a conservative holds a position, it is expected that we will be consistent and firm in that position until death.

So, we have to fight with sincerity and conviction – staying true to our principles whether they are popular or not.

That is a real problem because liberals can lie and change positions and use any underhanded tactic they want.

But we are not free to follow their example. The odds are stacked against us. But it’s based on faith, not on popularity.

Thus, stake out your position and hold it firmly, no matter what the media or public may say.

It would probably be at least a venial sin to do this.

If you want to run for what is right, stand up for what you believe in- don’t lie about it.

To do so would be to join the ranks of liberals and to act without integrity. However, I’m afraid that is not necessarily limited to the liberal parties.

According to Catholic teaching, the ends NEVER justify the means.

The problem with that, through my eyes: Conservatives are already on many people’s last nerve. You don’t want another reason for others to berate them.

Dishonesty is not the best policy.

My thoughts as well.

As a conservative, I would not vote for your second term. I wouldn’t trust your word. Although politics + trusted word … talk about an oxymoron.

I doubt anyone could get away with it. Nothing is secret anymore…
