Would it be better not to ask for gifts on your birthday?

I know it’s a silly question, but I’m wondering this because Jesus said not to collect things on earth, but collect things in heaven. I know that whatever I ask for will eventually become boring to me. Then again, Jesus was given gold, frankincense, and myrrh when he was born, so idk if gifts are alright. But he also didn’t ask for them either. Can you receive spiritual gifts from God on your birthday?

I’ve never asked for gifts, but always gotten them. Do you mean to ask, “would it better to ask for no gifts on your birthday?”?

If you wish to, then sure, that’s a fine devotion. It is by no means necessary, though.
