Would it be okay if my Christian name and given name were the same?

well , actually myself is a chinese , and my english name is Austin ,which ive been using for years .And this August Im gonna be baptized , , , just today i thought Augustine would be a good christian name to go .but since i found that Austin is short for augustine ,so ,would it be fine that get myself with the christian name Augustine.:):):);)⭕(
 
Can. 855 Parents, sponsors, and the pastor are to take care that a name foreign to Christian sensibility is not given.
You are not required to choose a Christian name. All the Church asks is that when someone is baptized that their name not be contrary to Catholic thought. Since the name Austin is clearly not an anti-Christian name or sentiment it is a perfectly acceptable name to be baptized with.
