Would it be sinful if

Not if you only want to admire the picture for its asthetic qualities or because you want to show your appreciation for the good things Ghandi did.

Venerating it with candles or using it as a focus for prayer might not be the wisest things since we cannot know the status of Ghandi’s eternal destiny (and no, I’m not saying he was damned or saved).

But a sin? Not unless you were to worship it or him, which is reserved for God alone.

With all the beautiful icons available of Catholic saints, why Ghandi? 🤷

I don’t think it would be sinful, but I can imagine a better use for the money, but that is my personal opinion, and you *did *ask for it. 🙂

This is my question, why Ghandi? In viewing the picture, I do not (personally) find it to be a striking piece of art? I find that Catholic artwork is much more inspiring and beautiful.

While there is nothing wrong with you having this picture, I just would not have got it.

I am not sure what your question is actually?

As far as taste goes, I don’t see anything wrong with it. Ghandi did alot of good for this world, so I can think of much worse people to have on your wall or to admire. Me personally, I have a John Lennon photograph hung near the computer I do most of my writing at, to remind me that art can also serve the greater good. Inspiration comes in many forms, and I don’t think we should reserve our admiration just for the Saints, but for ALL people who do good in this world. Just my two cents of course. 🙂
