Would it be wrong to have a 'shotgun' wedding?

Dear OP,

Even though you are not Catholic, you might ask your local priest if you and your fiancee could attend the Catholic marriage preparation course. My friends who have participated told me it was excellent, and helped them discuss some issues they had not yet thought about.

I would definitely move up the wedding, especially since you were planning on getting married anyway. If you still have any doubts, there is nothing wrong with having a longer engagement though.

I will keep you and your fiancee and baby in my prayers.

A shotgun wedding is usually a wedding that takes place when a couple finds out they’re expecting. Usually, it implies that the man is forced to marry the woman (when neither of them are thinking of marriage) in order to give the baby two parents.

In this case, it would not be a shotgun wedding, since this couple intended to marry anyway. Btw, God bless you both and your little one!!
