My answer is “no.” All my hope is in Jesus, without which life would lack all meaning.
A God doesn’t necessarilly mean an afterlife.I would contend that God being the source of all life, then if there was no God… there would be no life.
True, I suppose. I really don’t think the existence or non-existence of God has much of an effect on whether life is worth living.A God doesn’t necessarilly mean an afterlife.
no God doesn’t necessarilly mean there’s none.
I think we’re talking about subjective meaning here. The evidence we have is that you did write it. Therefore, to you, it was worth writing. It is like asking- “Is this question worth writing?”
No, it is totally vacuous. But if I did not write it, no answer could be given.
I’m not just talking about ‘afterlife’. I’m saying that as Catholics we believe that God is the source of all life. If there is no God, then there is no life in the first place. Afterlife wouldn’t matter because without God, there would be no one alive in the first place.A God doesn’t necessarilly mean an afterlife.
no God doesn’t necessarilly mean there’s none.
My answer is yes.My answer is “no.” All my hope is in Jesus, without which life would lack all meaning.
Are you sure? In our day and age, ‘optimism’ is so deeply drilled into us, it is difficult to step outside of it.My answer is yes.
I have no gods in my life, and yet I find my life full of love, happiness and meaning.

Close. For life to be worth living requires both God and immortality.wrong question, the right one is…
Would life be worth living if there is no afterlife?
the answer is no, it’s a blink of the eye and then noyhing forever forever forever…
Sure, but the question was not, could you subjectively think that life was worth living if you don’t believe in God, but if God did not exist, would life be objectively meaningful, which is a different question. My answer is yes.
I have no gods in my life, and yet I find my life full of love, happiness and meaning.

It does not follow that “life is worth living” simply because people continue to live without God. Sometimes, people just continue to live out of intertia- because there is no plausible alternative- or the alternative is to messy, painful and socially unacceptable (and, indeed, sinful). I mean- think of battery chickens in tiny cages- life isn’t worth living for them- but they don’t commit mass suicide. Often, life just goes on when the love of life has long since fled.I think we’re talking about subjective meaning here. The evidence we have is that you did write it. Therefore, to you, it was worth writing.
So life would be worth living without God if A) there was no God and B) people continued to live.
