Hi, here’s the objection
I really don’t like absolutism, that we can be so sure in our principles. I doubt that you can know objective truth with certainty. I just try to trust those who say they do
I know that some may say that this argument is self-refuting, that if we doubt absolute truth, then that means that we must doubt that we doubt absolutism. But I would like to know if there is another way in refuting this argument.

If my question needs clarification for you, please ask

Thank you for anyone who responds

What is the context of this statement? To what was it an objection?

As written it appears to more of a personal preference than an argument. Objective truth does not require certainty. It simply is, regardless of its acceptance. So in some sense, the reaction to “absolute” may be justified.

The key is to address what it is you are seeking certitude about and address it as a who instead of a what. We are not coming to know mere facts, but rather a person.
And I don’t have time to go on right now.

I respond with another question: is it possible that God is able to give someone certainty? I think it’s logical that if God exists, that He would bestow certainty upon people (to the extent that their limited human capacity allows). The prophets were certain about many things, so why can’t we be? Bestowing conviction upon a believing person is one of the ways He interacts with us.

Offer to punch him in the face. I’ll bet his opinion firms up substantially.
