I have felt the call to do more, too. You’ve probably been feeling it for a while, but it does take time to sort things out, or at least it did for me. I’m happy for you that you’re feeling drawn to something much larger than what we typically experience in our daily lives.
In January, I went to work for a Christian non-profit which supports and educates orphans (mostly orphaned due to AIDS or Civil War) in Uganda, and for the first time in my life, I feel as though my “job” is so much more than that. I am planning a trip to the Watoto villages next year, possibly on a build team, because it’s not enough for me to work in the office here in the States. It may not be your particular calling, but if you’d like to know more, please visit
www.watoto.com and check it out!
The work I do for Watoto is all for the glory of God - as the children, who stayed with my family this past weekend, taught me to say, “Yesu, kwagala nyo!” If you have the Lord on your mind, on your lips, and in your heart, everything you do will be for Him.
