It’s another law being implemented in Russia in regards to homosexuality but I think it goes too far.
Russia is debating whether to have children removed from same-sex households because of the parents alone. Could this morally just in the slightest when there’s no abuse?
Although no one wants to admit it in this country (the USA), what Russia is doing today is what was once commonplace 50 to 75 years ago in the US and most of Western Europe.
Back then, most male homosexuals were not in the closet, they were hidden under the floor of the closet.
Just think of the movie star Rock Hudson a few years ago. For almost the whole of his career, his homosexuality was a closely guarded secret because if he was “outed” his career would have been over.
Up until about 20 years ago when the US Supreme Court threw out the sodomy laws of - I forget which State, almost all States had very strict Anti-Sodomy laws on the books that were strictly enforced.
There were many gay people that were imprisoned for many years under these laws! There were even instances where strait people were sent to prison for indulging in oral or anal sexual practices.
So, for those of you with a liberal mind set who are prone to fall for the gay lobbies propaganda in the US, Canada and Western Europe, remember that social mores operates like a giant pendulum. What is permissible in one era becomes taboo in the next, then back to permissiveness, etc., etc., etc. It is only a matter of time before today’s liberal attitude towards sexual activity ends, and gays will have to go undercover (no pun intended) again
It seems that with our current liberal attitude towards homosexuality today, perhaps, we are the odd man out with regards to the rest of the world. Homosexuality is still taboo, not only in Eastern Europe and Russia, but also in much of South America and the Far East. It is also taboo in most Moslem Countries, except that some bi-sexuality is privately tolerated in the wealthy upper classes.
All of this is probably uncomfortable to some of you, but it is factual social history.
