Would this invalidate a confession?

This is probably going to sound very stupid, and it’s probably been brought up before. Let me apologize in advance for that.

I always go to a behind the screen confession, but it’s not in a traditional confessional. Rather, it’s in one room with two doors. One door leads to the priest face to face, the other leads to a kneeler with a large curtain in between us. The lack of a traditional confessional isn’t what bothers me (though, if there’s a problem here, please, let me know!), but this (here’s the stupid part): Is it okay to have something blessed inside of the confessional, say after absolution? I wouldn’t think there would be a problem, but after reading up on how even changing the words of absolution slighty can invalidate the whole confession, I’ve been worried.

I have a terrific old Rosary I’d like to get blessed, and I figure there’s no better time than confession to have it done, but if there’s a problem, please let me know. Thanks in advance for any help, time and time again you folks have helped me greatly!

I do it all of the time. It’s no problem at all. Or if you don’t want to do it in the confessional, wait until after mass and have your priest do it then.

I dont think asking the priest to bless your rosary would invalidate your confession, but it isnt the right time to ask for this. The priest is focusing on hearing the sins of the people and giving spiritual guidance and absolution. He is not there to bless any items that you bring. Perhaps you can catch him before or after the confession time to get your rosary blessed.

Go to confession, receive absolution and penance. At this point this sacramental event is concluded (well, perhaps after you perform penance). You have the priest right there, often priests are super busy, like they say, opportunity strikes, get the blessing.,

I would suggest waiting until after Mass of some other time.

Think of it this way. Would you you get up and walk down to the front of the church after a Baptism in the middle of Mass and ask the priest to bless the Rosary?

Nothing wrong with after saying your penence, staying around and waiting until Confessions are over.

You guys are right, I should wait until another time to have it done. I was so concerned about invalidating the confession, I never really thought that it would simply be the wrong time to do it. Thanks for your help!

IT’s not really a wrong time, just not the best time.
