because, there is something i struggle with mentally, i just can’t bring myself to say it, & there is other sins but, i just don’t feel comfortable i don’t know why, but i felt a little nervous to go to confession just a little, & it would go away i told God i could confess it Next week i just feel so nervous & scared to confess it to the priest i feel that Next week, i can do it No guts no Glory but today i just feel scared to death to confess it it’s a pretty crazy thought should i just say crazy thoughts? or just confess it i always feel scared to say it i don’t know why but i feel sad now & nervous 😦

I made an appointment with a priest and went to confession when I felt exactly like you do now.
I was nervous, due to the fact that I never actually made an appointment before.

I can promise you this, there is NOTHING to be nervous or scared about…just sit/kneel down and confess your sins and you will find nothing but the love of Jesus Christ waiting for you.

I KNOW but i feel scared to death 😦 im crying now i just feel very sad & nervous i don’t know if i waited to late but, i just feel nervous & sad now Next week i’ll do it 😦

I had a sin once that I was acutely humiliated that I had ever done. I had been terrified to confess it, and had postponed it forever. I am so incredibly glad that I confessed it. It finally lost its sting. I still remember that sin now and then, but all the power, all the air went out of it. It deflated after confession. I was no longer intimidated/tormented by that sin of mine.

So, this is just an encouragement post for you.

No, waiting one week is not sinful. We are not required to go to confession within such a tight time schedule. I recommend going, though, if you’ve got something on your mind. Dealing with it promptly will help in the long run.

Remember, you don’t need to confess minute details! 🙂 You only need confess by kind and number. Like petty theft, twice. Detraction, three times. Use of an illegal drug, once. Maybe you’d feel less scared, and could get the words out easier that way.

I just entered the Catholic Church this year…about 3 months ago at the Easter Vigil. I was a Southern Baptist for 14 years. I know how you feel. I had to try and remember all my mortal sins, plus I had to do something that I absolutely did not want to do. Confession was my last hurdle to go over before I joined the Church.

Most of the time its Marian beliefs people struggle with, but mine was confession. After I went for the first time, I completely understand why Jesus did what he did. There is no greater feeling than walking out of that confessional KNOWING (not guessing or assuming) that all your sins are forgiven.

I will say a prayer for you.

First of all, it takes humility to go to Confession. But, humility is the greatest and most necessary of virtues.

Second, who promised that you would be alive next week? Ever day, without exception, somebody your age or younger dies suddenly, unexpectedly. Are you willing to risk your immortal soul for one Confession? Do you think you’ll be less nervous next week? Probably not. In fact, you’ll have another week to stew over it and get more nervous, maybe never going, and maybe dying before you do. That would be a horrible thing to happen to you.

Ask your guardian angel to help you and go with you into the confessional. Ask Our Lady to grant you the graces necessary to overcome your fear. And, say a good Act of Contrition right now. 🙂
