Would writing an alternate rendition of the Gospels be wrong?

it’s not an actual event from the Gospels tho
Not so.

“The Lion the Witch and the Wardrobe” has a scene where the central figure of Aslan is done to death but comes.back.to life in a way that is clearly a fictional refuelling of actual Gospel events- Chriats passion and resurrection.

It is done in a very respectful and impactful way that in my view is both brilliant storytelling and a great Chriatian witness from CS Lewis who was a man of deep faith.

that also happened in Star Wars but nobody was rewriting the Bible.

Nobody literally died and came back to life in Star Wars. Not even when Han was frozen in carbonite. Once Obi-Wan, Yoda et al died they stayed dead, only theor.ghosts reappeared. Unkess something happens in the last movie - which I never bothered to see.

This has been done before and none of them have been accepted with critical acclaim from Christians.

Some may be less controversial than others, but none of them are widely loved by Christians.

BTW - while this most likely isn’t sinful, it’s arguably not something that will bring others to Christ. At best it would only served to bring people to a fictional version of Christ, and not to the real Person of Jesus.

Therefore, I would suggest you steer clear.

To be expected of stories written for children.

I read them all as an adult, and even so, I didn’t mind the obvious payload.
