if your family went away for the easter weekend and you are home by yourself but they told you not to tell anyone they were gone or to let anyone come to the house.

but you know your best friend will probably ask. and she is currently sick and her husband is in the hospital and needs some help or company and it would be nice to spend this holiday with someone. my conscience really sin’t allowing me to lie or pretend that I’m busy or say that I’m away like my family expects me to when I know someone is in need and I could help instead of sitting at home alone. I am probably just going to tell the truth and hope no one asks me about it afterwards

would you consider it disrespectful if I didn’t do as I was told considering it’s technically not my house?? I mean normally we should follow the rules of a place that is not ours but honestly it’s crazy sometimes.

They can ask you to do that, but you were under no obligation to do what they ask.

If they ask you if you tell anyone just say you did. You’re not under any obligation to do the weird things I ask of you.

You are an adult. You are not obligated to do any of the crazy things I ask you to do.

It’s not your house, so you have to abide by the rules.

Why not a third option? The two of you could take in a movie or go out for dinner?

lol, no, not at all.

they just don’t like people coming to our house
and they think everyone will be jealous if they know they went on vacations somewhere. I honestly don’t really understand the reasoning

thanks 1ke, I am just hoping they will be busy enough and having fun that they won’t even bother asking, I’d rather not have to deal with the anger that may ensue over it.

wishing you a blessed Easter and please pray for me

well, I’m not planning to invite anyone over, I probably just visit with my friend or stay at her house for a couple days if she needs the help. but they don’t want to know anything at all, period.
