Would you eat 2 Big Macs and two Filet oā€™fish sandwiches with a chocolate shake at one sitting?
Interestingly, that was Donald Trumpā€™s diet while campaigning along with KFC, pizza and Diet Coke.

Nice to know heā€™s a junk food junkie. Itā€™s so refreshingly normal.

I actually havenā€™t had such a hard time. After the first few days, I donā€™t crave it anymore. And sweet things taste terribly sweet now.
Youā€™re happily blessed in that regard. Most people inc myself, have a problem with sugar. I also have a problem with sodium. Must be hereditary. Mama does too. The difference between us is that Iā€™m not crazy about sodium and she is.

Yes, when you give up something whether itā€™s sugar or sodium, having something with that ingredient will be quite strong.

A few weeks ago I was out with friends who wanted to have a quick lunch at a fast food outlet. The menu was very basic ā€“ hamburger, cheeseburger, quarter pounder, and one or two other variants. There was nothing I felt able to eat. I just had a soft drink to keep the others company while they had their lunch. Years ago I used to like that kind of food. Now it has lost its appeal. Nothing to do with medical reasons, or with slimming ā€“ I just have no appetite for junk food anymore.

I might eat the fish sandwiches.

The hamburger and chocolate shake are off limits for me while I avoid beef and dairy products.

There is no way I could eat all of that in one sitting. šŸ˜® Itā€™s far too much food. I donā€™t care for Big Macs, but even if you swapped them out in favor of an identical quantity of burgers that I do like I still wouldnā€™t be able to eat that much.

I lost 37 pounds (17kg, 2.7 stone) in the five months following the start of my parish service. My pastor is a very difficult person, and I stop eating when Iā€™m stressed out. I do not recommend this as a sound weight loss method, however.

My go-to order was a fish sandwich, a medium Coke, and mayyyybe a thing of fries if I was hungry.

But I noticed that when I packed my lunch (leftovers from home) for a long period, and then ended up needing to grab fast food one day, that I could really tell the difference in the way my body handled junk food. So even though I might still be hungry, Iā€™d make myself wait until I got home to eat proper food.

DH lost about 30 lbs doing Wheatbelly. (Cut out sugar and grains.) Some friends of mine lost about 70 lbs doing Keto (very similar-- cutting out sugar and grains to the point that your body goes into nutritional ketosis). After I heard that, I tried doing keto for a few weeks, and lost about 7 lbs. Then we had things like birthdays and Thanksgiving, and I ate a bunch of junk, and gained about 5 lbs back. Now Iā€™m back on the bandwagon and have lost about 3 lbs since last Monday. So itā€™s slow going, but itā€™s going in the right direction. šŸ™‚

Congrats on your 20 lbs! Thatā€™s an accomplishment! I was looking at FB pics of a guy I knew but hadnā€™t seen in several years. The last Iā€™d seen him, he was a big, tall, teddy bear of a guy. Then he went through a bunch of emotional crises, and used it as motivation. He dropped about 90-100 lbs and looked really awesome. He had worked had, and it showed.

I never eat fries anymore from fast food places. In fact, I really donā€™t eat fast food unless we are on the road and itā€™s the only option.

I sometimes make a dinner of roast vegetables. I try to make my own soup once a week for dinner, leftovers of it as lunch.

Cutting down on sweets helped me lose weight. And the way to stop eating them is to not have them in the house! I am finally able to pause by the Entenmanns buy one get one free shelf and say ā€œNope. Not getting any.ā€

OP, I applaud your goal of weight loss. Small changes will get you there!

My husband lost about 10lbs using belly diet principles. It worked for him.

No way I am giving up pasta! šŸ˜

For me it was the honey in my tea that kept me off the wagon for a good year. šŸ™‚

But then I thoughtā€¦ Hā€™mmā€¦ I can give up honey in my tea between ā€œnowā€ and ā€œThanksgivingā€ and see what happens. It wasnā€™t ā€œlose 10 lbs a week with this 1 simple trick!ā€ territory, but, say, half a pound a day with a few plateaus wasnā€™t too bad an exchange.

Now, Iā€™m back on the wagon until Christmas. And then Iā€™ll see where I am, and maybe extend the experiment through to Valentineā€™s Day, or some other arbitrary time, to see how close I am to my pre-pregnancy weight. My goal is to lose those last 15 lbs that just never went awayā€¦ my oldest is now in 3rd grade, so theyā€™re obviously not going away by themselves! šŸ˜›

Early last year I tried cutting out wheat and sugar, and it was almost a little scary loosing weight as I was running and kind of lean already .Wheat makes me sleepy, and sugarā€¦well,I was trying not to be addicted.I think Iā€™ve hit a happy medium now back on some sugar and a little wheat, need to walk more for circulation

I used to be able to pack it away and my sister could out eat 3 big men and never gain an ounce. I still can eat a fair amt. but have really cut back because of renal failure. Lost a little wt. but not much, but wasnā€™t really that overweight. I really cut back due to the kidney issues. Peace.
