Would you find it easier to kill someone if you believed God supported you in the act?

Thank you for this information from the Jewish perspective. I always appreciate when I learn about our fore bearers point of view.
It is only one Jewish interpretation of the Abraham story, and not necessarily the one held by the majority of scholars. However, I thought it should be noted since it is relevant to the OP’s question.

The title of the thread is deceiving and demeaning:
It is like the little quip, “So, do you still beat your wife?”
If you say “No”, you have admitted to beating her. The quip presumes you used to beat her.

This thread is presuming you are a murderer, killing people right now, and asks, “would it be easier than you find it right now in your current killing if God were to issue the command?”

Abraham was not intending on his own to sacrifice his son, but was planning on his son’s future. He was not killing anyone per personal decision. As a type of king he was joining in wars, but never killing as an individual.

This is a dark thread, deceptively leading one to contemplate the feelings one might experience in murdering, and what it would take to make murder palpable.
