Would you like to have kneelers for communion back in style?

yes, but people should still be able to choose between CITH and COTT, kneeling and standing

Not unless it became the norm to kneel for communion, and everyone was expected to do it.

It would be a waste of money to buy expensive furniture that will be used only for a short period of time by a minority of Catholics.

in many churches, the rails remained after v2.

If ones church does not have a rail, people can still kneel on the ground, or use a prie- dieu

Ya but the rails were meant to signify the boundary between sin and holiness. What did that cease to exist? Are humans now no longer sinners?

I understand that. But why was this centuries long tradition taken away?
Funny, it was considered liberal and far fetched following the Council of Trent when it was only railings and kneelers and people could actually see what was happening.
Prior to that there was litereally a screen in between the congregation and the altar. No One ever knew what was going on. It’s interesting.

No, I would not like going back to kneeling for Communion.
My parish, as well as a few others in the diocese, have prie-dieu’s set up for those who wish to receive kneeling.
They don’t get used often, but they are there if wanted.

I cannot kneel- actually, it’s not the kneeling, it’s the getting back up. And a prie-dieu is just not stable enough to support me in attempting to get up. I know many others who feel the same way.

Why would we want to make it harder for anyone to receive communion?
If you want to kneel, and you don’t have kneelers available, ask your pastor if something can be done, but to make it mandatory again just seems like a giant step backward.

It wasnt truly taken away… again, if a church does not have a rail, one can kneel and reccieve on the tounge. The girm specifies as such.

No thank you my knees can’t handle kneeling or getting up and down.

not everyone can kneel for communion that easily. Even in the EF, one can reccieve standing on the tounge of they cannot kneel.

do not demand confirmity where the Church allows diversity.

I believe its communion rails, but thats just my assumption…

Oh, really? 🤨
Nice way to judge me and anyone else who does not do what you do.

And, FWIW, receiving Jesus in my hand allows me to give him a big, old, hug. My way of thanking him for all he has done for me! 😉😉
