Would you move for religious asylum/freedom?

Mainly for my fellow US citizens, but all are welcome to respond.

The government seems to be stepping up more on their assault of our religious freedoms, and specifically, the Catholic Church. The media is more than cooperating.

Would you move to a nearby country so that you could be openly Catholic? What country would you move to? South of our border might have a reversal of fortune, with Americans sneaking into their country! Or would you go ‘underground’? I know it would depend on the level of persecution suffered, but suppose those were your only two choices. Our founding fathers came to America for that reason (one of the reasons), but we don’t have an option of a country that is uninhabited. A third option could possibly be acceptable: moving to Texas/other state and promoting secession.

I would say this will never happen but it doesn’t seem so far off now…
 
I am wondering just where that asylum would be. In any case my answer is no. I love my country and I would stay and work toward an end of such stupidity.

Moving to Texas may be the only option based on if there is still Constitutional rights for each State. You know the evil one’s purpose ts to completely destroy the US Constitution. They won’t stop until then.

I wonder what so many liberal Catholics on CAF will do at that time. After all, it is them who helped to put the President into his position twice. They must want to see what you described above happen - that no one can practice Catholicism publicly. Otherwise, they, the liberal Catholics would not support this administration twice, even up till today. I think you should add a category of “quit practicing Catholicism and be happy” for the “pious” liberal Catholics.
 
What exactly is the government doing that specifically targets the Catholic Church?

I highly doubt that Satan has that much of a problem with our national constitution.
 
It would all depend on the details of the circumstance. Certainly I would not want to leave the northeast or mid-Atlantic United States if at all possible. I am very attached to the very land here, so anywhere else would be exile.
 
It would depend on what righst were restricted. If the State forbid us from going to Mass and started shooting at us when we stepped out of the car in front of the Church, I would seriously consider moving somewhere safer. If that wasn’t possible, we would move underground.

If the State’s policies are merely unjust, I would break them and face the consequences of my civil disobedience.
 
I would like to think I would die for my faith…with God’s grace.

They didn’t have that option either. 😛

I really consider moving or secession as a last resort. I would rather fight to preserve (or win back) religious liberty than to admit defeat and go somewhere else.

There are MANY reasons to want to leave, not just religious freedom. The way I see it is this: Why should I leave??? They’re the ones that are wrong. Let them drive me out of my own country? NEVER!

I would countinue to practice my faith openly and honestly.

Well, there are more of “Them” than there are of you, for one.

I firmly expect to be in Purgatory before the US even begins its comeback. Think of years starting with “21.”

We aren’t going to secede though. We learned our lesson in that 1861 scrap.

Still, we may be the last bastion of 18/1900s Americanism left. Come on over!!

This great country was founded by GOD fearing men, for a GOD fearing populace. You can choose to deny that if you would care to, but you would be lying, and I better not hear of it. Read the words of the U.S. Founding Fathers as often as you read the Bible, in most cases it is just redundancy.

Seriously though I think I’d feel more at home in Canada than in Texas. Though as things are working out it is still more likely that Canadians would come to America to find religious freedom.
 
The problem with this question is: If the United States changes to this degree, what country would be better? There would be no place for asylum/freedom?
 
If it gets too bad, I’m selling my stuff and jumping ship. Let the rats try to swim out of the mess they will have created. 🤷

No, indeed, TX doesn’t resemble the North Atlantic states much. You guys do have more in common with Canada.

Seconded. The mid-west is still holding semi-strong, and Texas is doing alright. We just have to kick out Austin and we should be good 😛
