I am gratefull for the knowledge,wisdom and strength you have provide me. I ask for special blessings for those who have prayed for me and for all on CAF.

Earthenware vessel

Lord, out of humble rock You craft vessels of silver and gold,
treasures to last forever in the household of God,
filled with Your loving Presence.
Yet I bear the colour, the smell, the feel of clay,
a misshapen jug distorted in the fire of life.

I am ashamed before the gold and silver of Your House,
vessels of Your sacred self–
the more because in my humble depths–
You carry water of prayer to add a drop
to the richness of those wondrous cups, to swell their overflow!

I cannot comprehend the Hand that holds me.
Why do You carry me into your House?
Where is the silver, the gold that You might have used instead?
I belong on a shelf, where all things are plain and of little worth,
yet You persist to use me thus–base clay.

You might have left me forever buried under stones of non-existence as in ages past,
but I live now, exposed to the elements of sinful temptations
and of my fractured weaknesses.
I live in worshipping awe, unworthy of Your table, never gold, unless by miracle.
What will You do with me when Your feast has eternally come?
My presence would mock the gleaming vessels of Your Saints!

I humbly accept my unfitness and poverty–
yet I rejoice that shaped clay
conveys water of divine life as surely as pure metal in Your Hands.
So let me not fall into shattered uselessness
that I may continue to serve Your Own in quiet, obedient faith,
as Your merciful love is reverenced by Your life in me.
 
Lord, hear our prayers for Andrea, may you guide and protect her on her way. Please put her on the path that You desire for her. Above all, grant us the grace to acknowledge Your holy will and know that whatsoever You do, You do for the love of us. In Jesus Name. Amen
