And I’m saying that people who willingly and openly reject the majority of the Church’s teachings are sinning by this rejection, but they are just as fully Catholic as the rest of us sinners.

You are right to point out the sin of such people, but you are completely wrong to say that their sin makes them less Catholic than you apparently think yourself to be.

If you don’t believe that membership in the Catholic Church is determined by the sacrament of baptism, then you don’t believe what the Church teaches.

Hopefully Pope Benedict XVI will write something that will make this completely clear to all the “holier-than-thou Catholics” out there at the same time he makes it clear that all Catholics are called to be faithful to what the Church teaches.
