Would you want to see or hear your guardian angel?

My Grandpa, as he was dying, kept pointing at the ceiling and saying “stop fighting.” He would look at us with tears in his eyes and wish they would stop fighting. I was to young so I don’t remember if anyone asked him who was fighting. But I’ve always thought it was the angels in their final battle over his soul.

I believe your mom saw angels. God rest her soul.

I am a nurse in the ICU at our hospital. I am blessed to very often be with patients and families as the patient is nearing death. The patients often speak of angels in the room and they also talk to them just like you and I would. We even had a patient that spoke for great periods of time with Mary. It was beautiful listening to him talk. I think that if God were to allow us to talk to our guardian angels, he would make it possible for us to understand each other. From a simplistic point of view, I would love to talk to my guardian angel!! I would love for he or she to knock me upside the head every time I was about to screw up!!! I do believe though that we have angels that we encounter daily here on Earth and have been there to help and guide us on our way. God truly is wonderful!!!

No I have not, but, I am never suprised by anything!!! It could very well have been the good and evil fighting over his soul and I would bet that the good won out!!!

Pesonally I don’t think we keep our Guardian Angels busy enough. I send my Guardian Angel to adore Jesus for me before the Tabernacle all night until I get up. I send my Guardian Angel to people I know or hear of who are suffering to console and pray for them and be with them, in those times they have two Guardian Angels to minister to them.

i don’t think i have ever sent my guardian angel anywhere.i sort of like to think of him/her by my side…

and if you do send your guardian angel to others or to adore jesus in the tabernacle or to other places…then when your guardian angel has gone where you have asked him/her to go, then who is there to protect you…

While I understand what you are saying, I often send my guardian angel to protect others that I know need them. I guess it is a risk I feel that I need to take in order to protect someone else. I often send my angel to protect one of my daughters or someone that I know is in a great deal of pain and in tremendous need. It is what I personally feel that I need to do.

Don’t forget the Lord who is in you when you are in grace. I never thought about putting my GA to work like that before. It reminds me of when St. Faustina took a train to the city. The Lord sent St. Michael to guard her and as they passed each church on the way, there was an angel on top of each one who nodded in respect to St. Michael as they passed. It’s nice to think the Lord always has an angel with Him and guarding His Church. Tim

Well there’s an old saying about being good to everyone in case you entertain an angel. I believe we meet and see them often, but we are not always given the grace to know it.

I think we do talk with the angels, you can momentarily entertain a bad thought and be guided away from that by thoughts that seem whispered to the mind, this could argueably be the conscience, but also it could be angels forming the conscience.

Of course we want to see and speak with angels this is part of desiring to be with Jesus in Heaven, but I don’t think we should make it a desire because desires are not altogether spiritually healthy. So we hope for this because we hope for heaven, we hope for Jesus, but we don’t desire it or make it a focus.

Personally I don’t think we keep our Guardian Angels busy enough. I send my Guardian Angel to adore Jesus for me before the Tabernacle all night until I get up. I send my Guardian Angel to people I know or hear of who are suffering to console and pray for them and be with them, in those times they have two Guardian Angels to minister to them.

Our Guardian Angels are very powerful and I try to remember to thank mine everyday.

Your Guardian Angel can protect you wherever they are. They are pure spirit. They can be where they need to be in an instant. Your Guardian Angel will do God’s will and only God’s will, so if you send your Guardian Angel off somewhere and God wills you be protected from something you do not foresee your Guardian Angel will obey God before they obey you. However if you ask your Guardian Angel to do some good deed for you they will always do it and they will always protect you. They will obey you but will defer to God first as I have said.

You send your Guardian Angel as you see fit and ask of them good works as you see fit and always ask for their protection, trust them they are much wiser than any of us lot put together. Thank them often and talk with them as much as you can.

if god granted you the oppertunity to be able to see, hear and speak to your own holy guardian angel 24/7 for the rest of your life on earth…would you want to?

i would…but…i would only want to if god would block any other spirits or anything evil from speaking, appearing or coming near me…i would hate that to happen…although if you could see your holy guardian angel at your side i guess you wouldn’t be so scared…

can you ask god in prayer for this grace (to be able to see, hear and speak to your holy guardian angel…if it is his will) or is it wrong to do this?..

i personally would never do any of those new age techniques to see angels…but would it be ok to ask this of god in prayer…

what do you all think?..

For myself, I would not do it, for the same reason that I would not ask God for a vision–we really should not be seeking supernatural experiences. However, if God allowed my GA to appear to me, I would accept it, but I think I would try to discern if it was really from God, and run, not walk, to my priest and not tell anyone else about it. I may be a bit of a doubting Thomas, but too many people have been deceived by such things, even good Christians.

However I have had some things happen that have led me to believe my GA was protecting me, and I do ask for it’s help and protection.

But that is just me.

I am so afraid of evil spirits that I only talk to God or angels in my mind as I don’t want evil to overhear and intervene or fool me.

I think mine saved my life last night while driving home by myself. I was very tired and closed my eyes while driving on the highway, when I felt a purposeful tickling under my nose - it felt like my wife did it to me because we tickle each other with hairs we find lying around at home (silly, I know). I opened my eyes and the car was headed off the highway, when I took control of the car again. I was headed for at least or horrible crash. I looked in the mirror to see if a bug was on my mouth/lip or maybe a stray hair that was flapping in the wind. Nothing was there. No bugs anywhere, no hairs. I opened my eyes immediately, so I would have cuaght whatever it was, but again, nothing. I can only thank Jesus for my guardian angel and his/her intervention.

I didn;t feel creeped out or spooked. Just calm knowing I have an extra set of eyes (?) looking after me.

No, I don’t & wouldn’t.​

FWIW, favours like that do not exclude the possibility of damnation; conversion to Christ - & we are commanded to seek ever deeper & fuller conversion to Him - does. If we are “among those [He has] chosen”, we shall not lack the friendship of the angels in Heaven; which “in Him” we have already in any case

Conversion is necessary - extra-ordinary graces are not. It may be that God witholds such things because we would not have strength to bear them. To seek extra-ordinary graces is to expose oneself to great dangers; which is the very thing you are trying to avoid

Personally I speak to Saints and Angels mentally. I only pray vocally at Holy Mass, when praying the Rosary, Divine Mercy Chaplet and when praying with others, say my daughter or within my community. I daily say vocally the Guardian Angel prayer with my daughter.

For the most part I pray mentally. I don’t do this out of fear and I am concerned you are fearful. God can and does shield you from evil. Satan/evil spirits is only alllowed to perceive and know what he is allowed to know and perceive.

I pray mentally for the most part because Jesus draws us to pray this way to deepen our prayer life with Him.

You know satan should have no bearing on your prayer life. He has no business interfering with your prayer. What has he to do with holiness and what has he to do with love that manifests in prayer? What has satan to do with you and God? What business is it of satan how you pray? That evil old imp has nothing to do with anything Holy. He cannot love, nor can he pray, nor can he do anything to you unless you allow it. Do not let him inflict upon your prayer life. But ask the Holy Spirit to give you great courage and to pray as you desire to pray. If you should shout at the top of your voice aloud daily to Heaven, ‘God and all His Holy Angels and Saints protect me’ then what business has satan in this? None whatsoever.

Satan however will attempt to force into your heart, mind and soul many fears and doubts that are insipid and will seek to destroy your prayer life because here in prayer you are drawn closer to Jesus.

Satan is wiley and cunning enough due to his intelligence to know when you are praying whether you use vocal words or not. He can intrude on mental prayer as much as he can intrude on vocal prayer, it makes no difference, therefore why should you tailor your prayer to suit this evil old counterfeit. He cannot read your thoughts, but he can perceive much.

Prayer has nothing to do with satan, he is an unwelcome intruder and is so abase he does not care about intruding on this holy ground between you and God. He hates you and everyone else and will go to any length regardless to destroy your prayer, your faith and your soul. He never loved and he never will do. He was a liar and a murderer from the beginning.

You pray as you like and don’t be afraid. If you prefer to pray vocally for some prayers then do so and if you prefer to pray mentally for some prayer then do so but don’t allow satan the elation of causing you hinderance in prayer, he has no right and you must deny him all rights to your life and the prayer of your life.

You keep your Guardian Angel busy, send them in prayer how you like and cause them to have much to give to God on your behalf.

I will pray the Holy Spirit to grant you a great measure of courage.
