I accidently stumbled upon this page and thought to pass it on.

It contains a video of the Traditional Latin Catholic Mass, narrated by Fulton J. Sheen. (one of my favorite teachers šŸ™‚ )

I’ve never seen a Traditional Latin Mass before. This is so beautiful!

God Bless!

Yes, thats why it can be found in my sig :D. This video was discovered before the forum crash back in July. It is one of my favorites.

One quote I noted: ā€œIt is a long established principle of the Church never to completely drop from her public worship any ceremony, object, or prayer which once occupied a place in that worshipā€.

Sort of threw the baby out with the bathwater on that one 😦

Yes, this quote particularly stood out to me as well. How sad!

Wow, you guys caught that, too! I remember it being at the beginning of the Mass, and it stuck w/me throughout the whole video.

And you’re right: It is sad they took out some of those beautiful prayers and objects of the Latin Mass.

Honestly, why did they have to go and mes w/the Sacred Liturgy?

I hope to someday be able to attend a Tridentine Mas, but so far, there aren’t any parishes close enough for me to get to.

I don’t do a lot of driving; especially out of my neighborhood. My husband is the navigator in the family. Unfortunately, he’d look at me as if I had two heads if I asked him to drive me to a parish that was over an hour away from my area.
I’m lucky if I can get him to attend Sunday Mass at our own parish, which is only three minutes away by car.

God Bless!

That was awesome! Thank you for sharing this great treasure with me! May God bless you all in your endeavours for holiness!

It was edited due to time-constraints on Youtube, so we miss part of the Gloria, the Victimae Paschali (beautiful chant for the Easter Mass), and a couple other parts.

Apparently the FSSP made a video of a Traditional Mass a few years ago that was amazing. I want to order it on DVD.

It was a first for me, too. Thanks for sharing it. Will definitely forward the URL to family and friends.

PAX,

Jullien

Hi (or is it hail) Caesar,

Do you have some sort of link to a site where I can order the FSSP Mass on DVD?

My wife and I have recently begun attending the local FSSP Mass which we absolutely love. It has been like coming back to the Church all over again. It is so wonderfully and completely CATHOLIC! Not suggesting the N.O. is not, but there is an extra something about the ancient liturgy which keeps me longing for Mass to start that I have not experienced to the same extent until recently.

I am going to my first High Mass tonight after work for St Michael’s day. I can’t wait.

Pax tecum!

That has happened several times over the course of 2,000 years, however. It was not just with the NO that it changed. As I read on the Catholic Encyclopedia, the Mass underwent quite a change in the early middle ages as well.

The church I normally attend, Queen of the Most Holy Rosary, made a recording of the old Dominican Rite High Mass a while back. I’ll see if I can find the link to order it, if anyone is interested.

Of course. The movie is called Tradition, and it is a video of a Solemn High Mass, produced by Emmy Award winning producer Jack Cashill. Here is a link for information on it and ordering info from Una Voce America- unavoce.org/video.htm

If its a Solemn High Mass, youl be blown away! šŸ™‚
It was, and I most certainly was. I did not want it to end.

This kind of makes everything fall into place for me.

I came back to the church from evangelicalism a couple of years ago, after going through all the usual apologetic issues one by one. I saw that the Catholic Church was the one true Church founded by Christ. I knew it intellectually. I began going to the local Mass in the new Rite, and even that was just exhilerating after coming from the pentecostal and baptist services I had gotten used to.

But this!

This!

This beautiful and apt setting for the Holy Sacrifice to be made makes me understand, ā€œAha! this is the Mass that thousands of saints through the ages knew, and I am humbly here too.ā€ The pinnacle of the Catholic religion.
I am finding it more difficult to go to the N.O. even though it is much closer, and now it is only if it is almost impossible to get to the FSSP Mass.

Yes I was absolutely blown away! That is, when I could see through the smoke of the incense! One of the Priests had to open a side door to clear the air.

Thanks Caesar, I will jump onto that.

Thanks again,

CC
