chris ZA:
I attend a TLM Mass centre that is awash with young (20-30 year old couples). A member once calculated the average age of the congregation, it was something like 4 years old (and falling).
While ātraditionalistsā are a very small minority in the Church my experience is that it is the only place where on a community- wide basis you see actual evidence of obedience to Church teaching on artificial contraception.

I have to agree with you Chris. I just joined Assumption Grotto in Detroit, MI - an orthodox parish and it is flowing with young couples who have lots of children. The priests hit on contraception, abortion, and all kinds of hot-button issues here on a regular basis. These people are freely obedient to Catholic teaching, and notice the word āfreelyā. One can only be obedient if he so chooses because anyone has a right to go elsewhere for āconvenient Catholicismā.
I think we are looking at the John Paul II generation. They have embraced his Theology of the Body and desire to follow Truth, where ever it leads and regardles of the sacrifices.
Jesus never said it would be easy or convenient. He said it would be the opposite. Itās a difficult and narrow road and I would rather follow a priest that will help me to be as God-pleasing as I can, than one who will enable me to please mostly myself.
Since I joined 3 months ago, Iāve been in one shock after another during the homiles and Iām still not use to it. I go daily and Iām moved as deeply as I would be on any retreat. They have definitely created spiritual tension in me, inviting me to the joys associated with that straight and narrow path.
The magazine, āInside the Vaticanā features a great article on the youth of JP2 and a twenty-something tells the story of her transformation from picking and choosing, or not wanting the Church in her business to one that ended in fully accepting ALL teachings, including contraception. If you can find it somewhere, it was outstanding. They do not have it on the web. The girl did a great job writing the article and it was so gradual, the process, and now she is quite orthodox, devoted to Mary (was not previously), etc. She is not alone.
