Wrong to say paryers in Latin?

Is it “un-Roman Catholic” to say the Sign of the Cross in Latin. I have been recently saying the Sign of the Cross in Latin before prayers. It almost feels more authentic, and I kind of like it.

Is this viewed as a traditional Catholicism practice? I am a Roman Catholic. Is it wrong to pray in Latin?

Not at all un-Catholic to say your prayers in Latin. If anything it’s more traditionally Catholic (meaning most common practice of the church for hundreds of years) to do so. Most all formal prayers among Catholics, including the Mass, used to be said in Latin.

They still can be. Even the New Mass can be said in Latin.

hamburglar, watch clips of Pope Benedict’s general audiences on EWTN and make note of what language the Pope prays and gives blessings in. It is not “un-Catholic” at all to say prayers in Latin, especialy since (whatever some may tell you) Latin is still the official language of the Church and the language in which all official Church documents are issued in.
