My grandfather served in WWI, as well; one of my favorite photos of him showed him in his “doughboy” uniform in 1918. He never talked much about it… I’m sure it was a miserable experience.

I am sure Wilson accomplished some good while in the WH.
I am glad we have the footage that shows what miserable conditions the soldiers had to endure and other than the trenches what little protection they had.

As I watched the conclusion last night I wondered how the soldiers came to be known as “doughboys”.
